Make sure your phone or tablet or whatever supports MHL or Mobile High-Definition Link before ordering if you plan to use the HDMI port on this hub. Sadly my device lacks MHL so I would've been returning this had I ordered it. This might help explain why certain hubs similar to this one have a high return rate on Amazon. Great price if you can use all the features with your device!

It looks like Baseus couldn't move enough of this stuff, so they listed it twice. Once for Slickdeals "promo" (at the higher price) and one time for Prime.

This uses USB Type-C DisplayPort Alt Mode to output video and USB PowerDelivery to provide power. Most devices with USB-Type C (including Thunderbolt 3 and 4) should support it, such as laptops and higher end phones with USB C (Samsung Galaxy, iPhone 16, Pixel 9, iPad, etc). If it can support the full 10Gbps will depend on the ports capabilities, but most (not all) should do power, data, and video. Check your devices specs or the port markings: https://i.sstatic.net/uwZAm.png

Thanks for this! Looks like USB 3.2 or greater for devices lacking MHL? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A53 and Samsung's website says my phone doesn't support MHL and has USB Type-C 2.0, OTG So I think I am out of luck with this product. Frown

Mobile devices are harder to tell, but again, then video out mode is actually DP Alt Mode, MHL is a different standard that is less popular/ non-existant in USB C, but was around in the micro USB days. Samsung A series probably doesn't support video out, but all S series phones in the past 5+ years do and switch to DeX mode. Google Pixel only started supporting video out with last year's Pixel 8 series. iPhone 16 and lower end iPad can do screen mirroring, iPad Pro can extend the display. Most laptops, including ALL Chromebooks, in the last several years, have fully capable USB C ports.

Just received mine (for $4 more from the last deal) a couple of days ago and tried it across a number of devices, including wired ethernet into my super finicky HP work laptop (as well as iPad) and everything worked perfectly! I haven't put it through it's tasks yet but for this price this is a VERY solid deal!

Nice chart, though was hoping to apply it to the hub itself. Any way to tell if the USB-C 10gbps port (not the PD) supports video out? would love to use this in a dual monitor setup with the other over HDMI.

Seems there're 3 different "USB 3.2 Gen 2 SuperSpeed+ USB" types that support 10gbps, though odds are this one is neither PD nor audio/video?

No, the all the USB ports on the hub (except the PD port which is only power), and probably all other hubs, are data only.

I have the Baseus adapter like this that has two video out (I think it's the 9 in 1.. confusing numberings), so look into that. Your device would need to support DisplayPort 1.4 (older ones use 1.2 and it doesn't have enough bandwidth for 2 displays) as the Alt Mode, or Thunderbolt 3/4

Data takes many forms 😉

Figured that was the interpretation though, thanks for confirming.

I edited my response after you replied to look at the dual display version of this adapter. But data usually just means data transfer (no charging capabilities and no alt mode for video output). If the device you're plugging into the USB ports is video device that works over data (i.e DisplayLink, not to be confused with DisplayPort) that's different than your device's native video output. It's a confusing mess
