I hate the color of LEDs for Xmas, sorry. Even the "warm LEDs" don't look like the warm incandescent.

Bought 10 of these.

Man, I REALLY wanted to go with the LED's but I plugged them both in, and the LEDs were very "Cool" looking while the Cheapo's were "Warm" Went with the cheapo's even if they only last a season or two.

I mean same, but it's not worth giving up the energy, safety, and longevity benefits of LED.

That said, there are more and more LED alternatives that do things the right way - by that I mean more muted color (often standard warm) LEDs in a color shell, rather than the weird color LEDs that most LED strings use.

A Youtuber I watch regularly (Tech Connections) has featured a few. Vintaglo has 100 light, 33 ft strands for $20 and Tru-Tone has fancier glass bulbs, but they're quite expensive.

You can see what the Vintaglos look like in this photo, from a reddit post by user querycrossing.

Will be .25-.50 in a week or so. HODL
You'll be lucky if they last three days at this price. The days of super cheap decorations after holidays is long gone.

We do because that's what matches all of our other lights we already have. We have too many to just buy all new LED lights. Not everyone can spent a bunch of money on Christmas lights.

Many saying LED only last one season. Possible that LEDs designed 4 short life like the original LED A19 bulbs were when they 1st came out.

Almost all LED Xmas lights look quite harsh--even the ones that imply otherwise in their ad copy. There is one brand doing it right, though, as Technology Connections demonstrates:

Yes, this is 2nd season. I put them up for Diwali in Oct and take down after new year. So ON every night for ~3 months .

They are going strong. I expect to use them next year. That's a good return for $1 investment.
Everything I know about Diwali I learned from the office

$3.60 a day to keep them on for 18 out of 24 hours (eg. 3pm-9am). Just over $100 a month to light these during dark hours. That's for one strip. Gasoline conversion covers 6j in expenses

Lots of people, most everyone I know does not like the harshness of the led Christmas lights. There's very much a market for these otherwise they wouldn't be making them.

Vintaglos do look great, I saw that video [youtube.com] as well. But even at that crazy price they are SOLD OUT until Summer 2025!

I look forward to this day every year - when Lowe's goes 75% off Christmas lights. I went to 7 stores yesterday. 6 before work and 1 after picking up yard decorations and lights. We add more to the house every year. The GE lights are way better than Holiday Living. The only strands I have issues with are the net lights. I have to replace bulbs in about half the strands each year. I've got a LED light keeper that has made the process a lot easier. If you are careful putting them away and storing them in totes, the lights will last several years.
