Now I have to decide if it's worth an extra $400-$500 over the M2/m3 air with 16gb of ram.

I did not have to provide my zip code. I guess they are also keen on clearing the MacBook Pro M3 Pro inventory. It was one of the easiest online chat price matches I ever had
My only thought is perhaps they have different agents handling price match requests outside of business hours, and they did not hesitate to approve

Literally 10 min after posting this, I got connected to another agent that made it happen. I purchased an order and issued a refund of the difference!!
