keepa (and camel) says this is the regular price and has been at this price for 3 months+. This is a case where you just rush to buy when you see it on SD. The things that happen in this world for profit....

For reference, 1.5 months ago it was 1.88 a shirt:

These shirts are listed as 100% cotton. How do they wick moisture?

Undershirts used to be much cheaper. Surprising that this is considered a deal now.

I meant in general, not recently. I used to buy undershirts posted here often, and they were MUCH less in years past, here is an example: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/421707
but I realize the cost of everything has gone up.

I find these too short. I like the gildens better now. Gildens do have a hint of poly for stretch/wicking.

You can always ignore the obfuscation in these absurdly long SD titles.

50 years ago, you'd simply say "3-pack men's t-shirts" and that would be that.

....

Absorption of water from the surface of the skin, transportation thru the fibers, evaporation from the other side into a air.

It really isn't anything "amazing" or special.
Just a ton of marketing hype and B.S. to try and make the ordinary "special" enough for the markup in price. Ie. Sucker you in. Plain cotton t-shirts ought to be $1-2 retail at most.

..

If you slap plastic wrap or foil against your skin, there's no way for the moisture to pass thru, so 0% evap/wicking = uncomfortable as that area of skin gets wet with sweat.

Cottons keep/hold some moisture in the fibers, synthetics somewhat less, but they all maintain some moisture when wet. But they allow evaporation to occur, so less yucky feeling than plastic wrap next to the skin.

The naturalists out there with no clothes enjoy no moisture trapping and direct to air evaporation.

You can see the transport action with a tall cup of water and a wash cloth or cotton disposable napkin. Stick one end into the cup touching the bottom, the other part over the edge, down the side of the cup. You'll soon have water pulled out of the cup onto the table thru the fibers.
...

Interestingly, the grossest odor producing bacteria love synthetics like polyester and are harder to wash out, if you love gym stink. Cottons less so.

So gym rats....and doctors do better with cottons if they're not constantly washing their outfits daily with a lot of OxyClean and Tide Hygenic to kill those yucky bacteria amd strip them out.

I tried the Gildens last year, but all of the collars started wrinkling after 3 months, which kills the shirt for work use for me.

Anyone know if these shirts are as soft as the Calvin Klein ones?

Bro that was six years ago! My 5 year old wasn't even born yet. A literal lifetime ago!

Given these shirts are supposedly "100% cotton," is "moisture-wicking" (in this case) an euphemism for "paper-thin"?
