My current plan is 5GB/mo which expires in 6 months. If I apply the code of this plan, would the plan extend another year with 3GB/mo after the current plan expires?

Can anyone shed light on how good is redpocket w.r.t totalwireless or t-mobile based mvno?
My mint annual plan is slated to expire early Jan and plan to switch to redpocket.
My prime coverage requirement will be mostly in downtown Chicago.

I wouldn't do it. If it's a different level of high-speed, it changes your plan and you lose the old paid time and start a new plan immediately. Sometimes people have said if it's exactly the same plan it will add on to your old plan, but I've done that and lost a few days before, and other times it actually saved my last few days from the old plan. Never tried re-newing more than a few days before my plan was about to expire, didn't want to risk losing more than a few days. You can't really be sure what will happen, even if you asked CS first, they are wrong a lot. I wouldn't eff with it, myself. Codes are good 90 days, I wouldn't buy a new plan more than 90 days out before my current one expires.

Also, their lowest plan that's been around for years through their eBay store (200 minutes, 1,000 texts and 200 MB per month) has increased from $30 per year (360 days) to $45 per year.
I checked Infimobile, and they are cheaper if you do not want Hotspot. My understanding is that RedPocket includes HotSpot in this plan. I can be wrong, but I got that info from another slickdealer in other thread.
