Here's another trick I used to save a few bucks on taxes: Go ahead and update your profile to a state that doesn't collect taxes (like Delaware or Oregon). Then, update your preferred theater to that city. When you renew or upgrade your membership, you won't see any tax. You can pay with your regular credit card, and you won't have to worry about the tax being added to your subscription! I hope this helps someone out there!

Seems to be the case with me as well. After checkout it said 2026. But on my amc profile, says 2027

Can we pay with Rewards money for the renewing? I think AMC stopped that a year ago.

I've never understood why people choose this level of premier membership. Is it just to waive the online ticket fees? It doesn't seem like there's any other really value added. I usually just buy my tickets at the door. But sometimes it's challenging to get a good spot so I guess that would make some sense. I wish there was more benefits in this plan.

Was thinking about getting alist for a year. If I get premiere also would I lose the premiere extension?

Unsure since this promo is untested waters but imo nope, unless their billing changed recently. How it worked for me previously is if you have Premiere and get A-list, Premiere gets "paused" and the membership subscription status is saved. You'll continue to pay A-list monthly until you decide to cancel, which Premiere gets re-instated with the original membership length. You should cancel auto-renew for Premiere to be safe.

Say you are Premiere expiring Jan 2025, Premiere promo now would get you to Jan 2027. You decide in Jan 2035 to get A-list anyway for a year until Jan 2026. As long as A-list is active, Premiere is paused, so you'll now have it until Jan 2028.

Pretty much so. I'm picky about not sitting too close and if I tell my kids we're going to go see a movie then I can't just leave it up to chance that we'll be too close to the screen.

Its worth it for me, buying five tickets everytime my fam goes, online app reserve the seats i want, free upgrades, skip the snack line that alone is worth the time. By the end of the year, the $5 rewards stack up amd it pays for itself plus a ticket to watch another movie.

You get 5x the points towards rewards vs the free version. Since the price of movie tickets and concessions are so much, I easily get a $5 reward towards my next visit (sometimes $10). Plus, it reduces the price of popcorn/drinks to the lower size (so a large is the price of a medium, etc.) Also, it waives online ticket fees for less than 4 tickets per order (although the free version is not eliminating fees for any amount of tickets in 2025 - change from 4+). You get birthday rewards that consist of a free large popcorn and drink (the free version only gives large popcorn).

I go to the movies maybe 5 times per year and this has paid out way more than what I paid for premier. I would get A-list if I actually went to the movies more often.

Just so you know, if you buy four or more tickets, your online ticket purchase fee is automatically waived with the free plan.
