Has anyone flown with this car seat before? Not sure if I should get a lightweight one (like this one) or use my regular one.

We had a Grace contender when we had one kid so we wouldn't lug our heavy britax around and I'm glad for that since you're usually already bringing a ton of stuff with kid(s).

Now that we've got two, my plan is to pick this up and a cosco finale for our older child so we have two lightweight seats (our grace while lighter than the britax is still heavier and bulkier than I'd like)

It is a ton easier to take a lightweight one.

What do you mean by fly with? I've taken one all over the place as luggage but I never take car seats into the cabin. It's super light and has held up well. Nothing fancy about it but it works.

Going on flight in January, and I am debating either getting a seat for my one year old or just checking the car seat and having them sit on lap. That being said, not sure if I should I use my regular car seat or get a super lightweight one. Nervous if I check my regular one, it will get damaged.

Have this and love it. Really light weight but a painful install. Best part get a cheap car seat cover and then while checking it in stuff diaper clothes and all kind of stuff in it Big Grin

I've gone both ways. The flight is definitely more pleasant with a car seat (obviously depending on age etc). I flew with a heavy car seat which was a pain in the neck (literally. My hands were full with the kids and carry on luggage. I balanced the car seat on my head.) to get onto the the plane.
