I know Dometic has been in the game a long time and probably has a company structure that now demands these premium prices they've always charged but can anyone tell me if there is a reason to pay these high prices when so much cheaper options exist? Honest question. Is the product any better than others?

Reliability and support if something goes wrong under the warranty period.... Probably the two biggest advantages over their no name chinese competition.

No coupon to clip for me for Colorado delivery. For what it's worth I don't think it's worth spending $585 for it, much less the msrp. Value depends if you do long road trips where a failed cooler would be costly or damage the trip.

I came here to post the same. Appearances say this is like my keyboardsmash named units that were 50-60% of the price. And while dometic might have a broader presence for service and support I wouldn't rate their quality as anything special. They're well established as an enshittified monipoly supplier in the rv industry.

Dometic 12V fridge/freezers are pretty much the standard but a bit pricey. I took advice from some friends in the 4x4 Jeep community and got a Setpower RV60D 4 years ago.... it's been running non-stop since I got it. Using it in my garage gym as a cooler most of the yr when not used for camping. I bought it for $379 4 yrs ago.
