If other retailers will start carrying it by January I could hold off until then, otherwise I may jump on one of these deals.
On one hand, I wouldn't really say upgrading to the same "tier" is worth $250 or $700...but on the other hand, the newer ones are better?
(well the M4 Pro does have 8GB RAM extra not just 2, but my argument is still kinda the same)
If it matters, I completely disregarded the M3 Pro since it has lower bandwidth than older M1/M2 Pro and performs worse/same as them in certain memory bound tasks. But you can't disregard $450 in difference either :/

Would I notice a big performance jump from a Macbook Pro M1 16gb?

I would like to be able to use my laptop outside on my deck so that's why I'm interested.
Again, it's a preference thing. Some people will prefer the glossy panel, but I'd like the nano-texture for the improved usability.
I am even willing to pay the extra $150 for it, but in reality I'd be paying like $250-400 extra for it because I'd miss out on the discounts or open box options at retailers. If I can't get the nano texture, I'd be fine getting a deal like the costco M3 Pro one and save even more.
