Arc'teryx is no longer a premium brand. Owned by a giant Chinese company and focused more on fashion than performance these days

I didn't know about PFAs in Arc'teryx. They function great. What about 10 year old Arc'teryx jackets - are they dangerous to continue using; or okay to use up, then replace with PFAs-free outerwear?

$350 for a tarp covered in PFAS. Arc'teryx is the worst offender for forever chemicals and their shitty build quality
https://www.gore-tex.com/technology/new-product
The GORE‑TEX ePE membrane is light and thin, yet strong, and it's PFAS-free* with a reduced carbon footprint**. To form next-gen GORE‑TEX Products, the membrane is combined with carefully selected textiles including recycled, solution or undyed textiles***.

I have a fair bit of Arcteryx ski gear, most is 5-10 yrs old, well used and loved, and has held up very well. E.g., Kyanite hoodie is the perfect fleece, and Sabre jacket/pants are the best ski shells I've ever had. However, I paid less than 1/3 of the current base prices for these items "back in the day," and might be looking at other brands if I experience a catastrophic failure (i.e., split pants), as the brand has raised their prices exponentially in the last few years. That said, this particular item -- which I don't own but have seen in person -- looks and feels like a lightweight rain jacket ...

Bad warranty. Claim its lifetime but after a few years they are very spotty on fixing things and just say its reached its end and is unrepairable.

They tend to delaminate and the company just says thats what they do and do not fix them. Lifetime is just a word to them.

Usually I don't gatekeep premium brands but I thought this price was for an actual winter jacket on discount that I would be interested in. Disappointed it's actually a $500 MSRP rain jacket

That sounds good but do you have anything factual to support the lack of performance?
My iphone was made in China.

This is free of PFAS. REI also stopped selling any product with PFAS a while back.

It does have Gore-Tex and anything with Gore-Tex tends to be expensive
