I just watched an extremely knowledgeable person on youtube last night regarding setting up an entire solar system. I'm going to re-watch his videos again (the one I watched was from 6 or 9 mo ago... and about 36 min long (or something like that). He goes over EVERYTHING, thoroughly, with regards to what you will need, gauge wire, and more importantly (for me) the WHY you need this or that.

Nov sale got 2 plastic one and 2 metal one. Metal one believe to be the same as DC House 165Ah even its label said 150Ah.

Ran full capacity test twice against each version. Here are the result. Plastic version has capacity 149Ah vs metal version capacity as 161Ah with 33-14A little over 0.2c.

Plastic version seams to have worse voltage drifting above 3.45v and ends with single cell over voltage protection above 3.65v to cutoff charging while metal version has very low voltage deviation among 4 cells even after 3.5v and ends with 14.35v set in bench power supply w/o single cell over voltage. So myself liked metal version more than plastic version based on charge curve alone.

The only con for metal is the weight 9lb heavier than plastic one. Metal case also can be stacked provided you put one 1 inch thick wood in between due to the handle on the top

Yes, this battery would last much longer. However, a lot more needs to be purchased. An AC to DC LifePO4 charger for the battery or solar charge controller, an inverter to power 120v electronics, wiring to the inverter, fuse(s), housing or mounting hardware, etc.

For a device like an Ecoflow, it's all included in one small unit. You are paying extra for the convenience and simplicity.

Ohh this is tempting. I have a Harbor Freight 35Ah AGM battery that I got in a plastic ammo case with a battery tender in it, works great but I do have to disable humidification and the heated hose on the CPAP. This battery looks like it'd get me a full 8 hours of usage with my Resmed CPAP with everything running on it. Do regular battery tenders work okay on LiFePO4 Lithium Batteries?

The are, but for just a router and modem none will work better or be cheaper than the suggested small Econflow or similar model that has UPS ability--not all do. This battery has more capacity, but you will pay for that with higher devices cost, higher idle power consumption, higher noise and heat generated by the chargers and inverters, and the space and maintenance all that will need.

No you need one designed for LiFePO4 batteries, but they're not that expensive for the 15 to 20, probably even only 10 amp, size you need. But it does take some work, you can't just leave the charger connected in all the time. Ecoworthy makes a small 600 watts max combination charger/inverter, even has UPS function, and it's relatively cheap at $150, but it's a little noisy (small fans that runs on and off pretty often even at no load) to leave connected all the time, at least for me it is so I returned it (and my touch activated desk lamp, the kind where you touch the metal housing, doesn't work when the combo unit is plugged in the same circuit).

Sorry, but why can't the charger be connected to the battery all the time? Wouldn't most chargers have the functionality to not overcharge the battery and just trickle charge it as needed to keep the battery fully charged?

The charger goes off when the battery is full, but you would still want to remove it.

And yeah I wasn't concerned about the speed of charge. The solar keeps them full.

I am thinking to get this battery to supplement an ecoflow power station and give it more battery capacity. My thought was to connect a DC outlet to the battery and then connect the ecoflow to the DC outlet via the 12V charging cable. So the ecoflow would get charged from the battery as needed to run longer while something else (e.g. refrigerator) is being powered by the ecoflow. Would this make sense?

Or would it be better to connect an inverter to the battery and then charge the ecoflow via AC?
