Personally I bet Nintendo will just repackage MK8, throw the world "rEmAsTeR" on it, include a tiny bit of new-ish DLC, then charge people $49.95 for the privilege to rebuy a game they already own on the Switch 1 (and probably owned on the Wii U)...oh, and it will have some absurdly useless Switch 2 gimmick that will be all the buzz for a 6 weeks then will be forgotten and / or sunset.

Nintendo itself said the Switch 2 drops by end of March.
Granted, MK9 may not be a launch title, but something will, and that tentpole makes the most sense.
