Great deal for these components. The Sonos do sound very good. I don't know what the Samsung sounds like. I would absolutely jump on this deal if I didn't have all the components. I'm waiting for something similar on the Arc ultra.

Wouldn't touch Sonos with a ten foot pole. The software is laughably buggy and unreliable. The CEO even apologized after months of denial. It's still terrible and the only that works is third party apps that don't have full integration.

Sonos has better multi speaker integration, so you can add different speakers in each room and group them while playing stuff. Samsung has a different sound note, so you have to test it out in BestBuy to find the tone you like. I have multiple Sonos speakers in my home, and they play seamlessly through apple music using airplay. My close friend has the 990c and I find it loud and more bass heavy ( both which I don't like).

I actually had both speakers set up and ran through tests with movies and music. If you don't care about having the Sonos ecosystem or adding more speakers then get the Samsung the audio quality was far superior to me. For the price you can't beat the Samsung you won't be disappointed.

Did you compare the arc ultra whole system setup with the samsung 990 to see which one sounded better? Is it true the samsung 990 base isn't that thumpy?

I don't personally have any issues with Sonos after years of ownership so YMMV, but I will say, you most likely will never use the software unless you're a power user. We haven't touched our Sonos apps since setting up our speakers. Day to day it just works. We use Hey Sonos voice agent to request songs and control volume, sources, and grouping. We also use our music apps to send audio to Sonos groups via airplay.
