That was a review of an older model (the AZ1500 Walmart Edition) which does not have replacement parts anymore.

I bought the one in this deal a few weeks ago which was $199, so I'm rebuying as this saves me $40 plus the I have a 20% cashback offer with CapOne so this post is saving me about $85.

Vacuum is solid if you want an upright with the versatility to convert to a canister style. I vacuumed with my old Dyson DC33 and then vacuumed with this afterwards and it picked up alot of dust, so it does a very good job.

A few notes:
- The vacuum will sort of run away from you on carpet when using because the rollers are powerful
- It's pretty heavy
- It isn't the most stable and I could see it tipping over

How does this compare to the Costco Shark UV730 that is usually on sale for $150?
The UV730 is not a DuoClean model. The DuoClean models are better for those with hardwood or LVP floors.

The $150 one sold in Costco does not support "power" lift-away which essentially turns into a canister style vacuum.
I see the difference now. Didn't realize there was a powered version. Thanks!

I do see that now + the powered lift away. Starting to make sense. This is a good price for the features.

I have this but from the shark. It's kucj better quality than what Dyson has turned into. A nice solid vacuum with no loss in suction and the canister never clogs up. I previously had Dyson's and bought this at the time to be a secondary to the Dyson to keep upstairs but it was way better than my Dyson and became the main vac. Price is great.

UV730 has an 800W motor, the Vertex has a 1344W motor that is more powerful.

I love this vacuum. I have 11 cats at home, so I vacuum a lot, pretty much every day. I bought this 2 years ago from Kohls, still working great.
Some people have mentioned the powerfins needing to be replaced after a year or so, still seems to be fine on my Vertex. Definitely has worn down quite a bit, but there's still some fins left and I haven't noticed much of any difference. My only comparison is to a Dyson Ball Animal, so I don't know how it compares to the newest Dyson vacuums. In any case, the suction was much stronger than the Dyson Ball Animal and it picked up fur on the carpet much better than the Dyson.
Avoid getting socks or sock like material sucked into the vacuum, it's a pita to get it out. Also you will need a right angle pick to clean the bottom of the rollers, there will be a lot of hair stuck right behind the rollers, it will make pushing the vacuum more of a chore when that happens. The other complaint is that the flex tube is rather short and does not extend a lot especially in the lift away mode, where the canister by itself is not very heavy so it doesn't balance very well. You pretty much have to carry the canister with you since stretching the flex tube requires quite a bit of force. The flex tube extension is much better thought out on the Dyson than the Shark.
For this price, it's a fantastic vacuum.

Would suggest to take a look at possible repairability if you have a longer term perspective

Difference with shark is you better stock up on parts and filters. I am constantly replacing filters unlike my dyson which you only need to wash once a year. Plus I replace my shark roller brush every other year. Not sure why shark is so popular but you get what you pay for. Shark is nice the first 8-12 months then it goes downhill fast

Thanks! I was only going to buy this because I saw it was more than 50% off and not because $150 for a vacuum is a pretty good price! 🙄

We got one of these last year. Duro- clean are the better models. Costco carries 2 models entry and buo. Most of the time sits around $300-250. We love ours. We have owned 2 Dyson and 2 Shark. Honestly these Duo cleans are incredible for the price. When they come out with new models you can get smoking deals.

I have a Dyson V15 for everyday use and I have a Shark Vertex which is the "big boy". I pull out when I want to deep clean. I bought the Vertex based off the vacuum wars review which at the time was basically the best vacuum on the market. The 1400W model is a beast and a steal at this price (I paid $250)

I bought this specifically for doing carpeted stairs, and recommend it for those with the same need. You can connect the hose end (either with or without the extension) and use the powered roller head to vacuum the stairs while holding the canister.

Edit: This is what I'm referring to since it's a little hard to explain: https://youtu.be/wuMYN3bDKtA?si=KdZ_fquwpME_6vD5

Down from $449, though? Is that an overhyped price? Was going to go for it, but if this is the regular range it goes for, then I'll keep looking.
I bought the sister model, the Apex a few years ago and at the time it was between the Vertex and the Apex, and both were around the $400 price point. I ended up getting it for like $300 on BF about ~4yrs ago because I wanted something robust. IIRC, the Vertex was better for carpet and the Apex was better for hard floors, but both were great for both with good power. The Apex had the edge on suction but by very little. I still love my Apex vacuum after 4yrs. I get filters from Amazon for cheap and run through them every 3yrs (change when they get gross, dont bother with washing). It keeps going well as long as you maintain it.

Update: I would buy again at this point. Honestly considering a second one for a different floor.
