This is a perfectly serviceable tent for a beginner backpacker, but check the one linked at the bottom of post I think it's a better value all around.
As someone who led meetup backpacking groups the guy/gal who shows up with the latest and greatest z-lite / goss gear tent, black diamond poles, bragging about their 11lb 3oz pack weight is generally the person who has to stop the most and has a sore back lol. Yes you can get utralight sleeping on the ground using your hiking poles for tent poles and having the latest and greatest gear, but do you really need that? It's like $4000 gold clubs thinking it will make you a better golfer. People hiked the entire PCT/AT with 60lb external frame packs not so long ago, you can make it one or two nights with a 35lb one lol..
Much like golf you are better off practicing backpacking, put 10lbs of water bottles wrapped in towels and walk 3 miles at a greenway work your way up to 40lbs and I can guarantee your little stabilizing back muscles will build up fast and you'll have no issues on a trail within reason. I have several expensive tents but often grab my cheapo ozark trail 1.5 person if i'm taking the pooch, embers from the fire melt the rainfly a little, or something odd happens then I am not out more than $25.
Edit: here is the tent I have from Walmart, it's a little better deal imho floor space is a bit bigger and it's even a tad lighter and cheaper.

I always carry a small pole repair kit even when I take the nicer Nemo or MSR tents I have out with me. I've seen hiking poles snap in half as well which was user error but sucked for them because that's what they used in their Goss Gear tent setup (someone else loaned a hiking pole for setup though).

Sure, you don't need to go spend lots of money. Just spend a little more on something like this (3.65 lbs):

A beginner doesn't have the stabilizing muscles built up in their back and this is something completely different. I try and go to the gym 3-4x a week and I rarely get sore doing my normal exercises even if I push to failure multiple times, however if I do an exercise I've never done before and it's a group of muscles i don't ever hit ( my wife talked me into doing the abducter machine for example ) then I am destroyed the next 2 days.
I did link one that was cheaper/bigger/lighter which I think is a win.. It's min trail weight is a hair under 4lbs and if you wanted to use aluminum stakes (15 pack is $10 on amazon) to shed more weight I am pretty sure you could get it to near 3.5 lbs or so which is insanely good for a ~$30 tent and wouldn't hold people back form recreational backpacking.
