Excellent headphones, Yes it has a retractable boom microphone. Yes it can be used on PC, Xbox, PlayStation. There is a tiny slider switch on the USB-C receiver, setting 1 is for Xbox, setting 2 is for all other systems. Get one headset kit and use it with all systems. Absolutely a good deal !

The nice thing about the Xbox version on PC is the chat mixer knob actually works even without the SteelSeries software on Windows 11. I can't think of any function that's lacking without the software actually...

I'm needing a headset that works on the PC when I'm working and making calls 95% of the time and for my Xbox the other 5% of the time. How is the noise cancelling on this? I want a mic that doesn't pickup my colleagues talking in the background

I was in a similar predicament between work laptop and gaming desktop. Ended up getting the arctis nova pro wireless.. deff more $$ but fits the bill. I found that amazon has the Xbox version on sale too (posted it on a thread earlier today)

You won't get all the Playstation features as this is xbox version. To get one 100% compatible with Playstation, you have to buy Nova 7p headphones. Then you will be missing some features when you try to use it on xbox.

The only thing you get by going with the Nova 7p is side tone adjustment. Since you can't do game to chat mix on Playstation anyway unless you have a proprietary Sony branded headset. So, you might as well just go with the Xbox or PC version of this headset since it'll work just fine on PlayStation.

I'm assuming the PS5 one works fine on PC?
Nevermind read a review saying they worked really well going between PS5 and PC. So I ordered a pair.

I have an Arctis 7X and it uses the same USB-C receiver, I bought this in 2020 and have used it for years, I can tell you 100% positively, this headset works on Xbox, PC and Playstation. You just need to move the switch on the receiver, green for Xbox, red for all else. Works perfectly. Buy 1 model and use it on many systems. or by the 7P and only be able to use it on PC or PS. Unless you dont care about Xbox then it doesnt matter. Either way, they are excellent headsets, good deep sound, comfortable and good battery life. Enjoy !

I have this headset. It does switch between PC (and presumably PS5) and xbox by a little switch on the dongle. The Steelseries GG software on PC is necessary to manipulate a few things that you can't set up on XBOX, including mic monitoring (called sidetone.) The sidetone and the external Bluetooth device are run through the headphone master volume, so if you turn the volume down, you turn mic monitoring down, which I found somewhat annoying. The sidetone and Bluetooth device volume very soft on these compared to other headsets. I use the Bluetooth to hear my phone notification.

Also the destiny stuff is a second box in the bundle, so the item codes, headband and ear caps you could sell or give away if you just wanted the standard Xbox band and caps, which also come with it. It has a separately boxed 7x included in the package.
