A drill and a circular saw might be the only two tools that are more useful than this but if you have the first two, this is the obvious third. I love dewalt. You'll want power for this tool but you don't need it as much as other tools. It's more important to keep your blades sharp for this so if you have to buy it Ryobi, that's the fine but for the price, I think this is worth every penny to get one that will last a long time. You will use it way more than you think.

This tool is definitely one of the most useful for DIYers along with a drill, impact driver, and maybe a circular saw. I just switched from Makita to Dewalt for my tool collection (love Makita but there are hardly any deals). Already have the mentioned tools except for a circular saw. Will wait for a good deal on the Atomic 4 1/2 inch saw.

I've had this oscillating tool for a while, think I paid more than this price with the battery and charger. Works great, might get another at this price, will visit my local HD store to see if on clearance.

These damn tool deals! I've bought so many this Xmas season … I have 2 new chargers, hammer drill, atomic 1/2" impact, impact bit driver, router, jigsaw, led light, 3 new 5ah batteries, 3 new 2ah batteries, 2 new 4ah batteries.

I think I have a problem.

Oh and don't forget three new dewalt bags to go with it!

Looks like all stores are $99 in the greater Seattle area. Wonder if they will drop to $79?

this better than the two batteries and tool deal for Ryobi?
In my opinion, yes definently. I used the Ryobi multitool for 2 years on home projects, before upgrading to the Dewalt. If you're doing projects that involve demo, particularly in tight places you will be very glad to have a quick change blade, I was shocked at how often I was moving blade orientation from one cut to the next.
If you only have Ryobi batteries, and only need the mutlitool for some drywall cutting, stick with the ryobi. But if you expect to use it a lot and/or already have Dewalt batteries, get the dewalt.

Handy, but be realistic about its power. It doesn't have any. This is very light duty. I still whip out the 120v oscillating for any work beyond thin wood or plastic.
