Sound quality is good, I like it a lot more than my JBL Flip, but obviously you aren't going to get amazing quality out of it since it doesn't have a subwoofer.
I think TCL is a more reputable company than 'Goputa'

TCL doesn't seem to be introducing anything similar anytime soon and neither Costco, nor Sam's carry TCL sound bars (they went all in on buying Vizio), so I doubt it will be getting any big box competition to bring it down further.
Best Buy has it on sale for $80, for instance.

The TCL S55H S is also on sale on Amazon for $120 and looks to be this same soundbar but also includes a subwoofer. $55 for a decent sub isn't a bad price at all. I bought a cheap sub for about $60 off monoprice and it's extremely underpowered. If it's better than that, the $55 price is a steal.

They're called "auto switching power strips" if you search on Amazon. Ex: https://a.co/d/iJg5Ou5
Though, keep in mind that without ARC, you may still need a second remote for volume control. The AUX connection should receive some amplification control from the TV, but I'm pretty sure optical won't.
