Use T-Mobile locked phone on their MNVOs??

Considering a new OnePlus 9 phone that's locked to T-Mobile. Purchase would be from an eBay seller, or perhaps Amazon.
My question is: Will I be able to use it (as it stands) still "locked" to T-Mobile, using my MINT service.
Mint is, as you probably know, a T-Mobile MNVO.

It's a crapshoot but you could also try to buy an unlock code on ebay. I've done it successfully.
It may be eligible for unlocking:
A friend had T-Mobile and added it to her account to unlock, but after much wrestling, T-Mobile said they couldn't unlock it and instead offered a heavily discounted, but locked to T-Mobile, Pixel 8. Sure enough that locked Pixel would not work on Mint, saying it was locked.
Ended up leaving it on my friend's T-Mobile account (it was a spare phone & number anyway) for the 40 day waiting period and she eventually got it unlocked for me.
I guess I missed the news that T-Mobile bought Mint in May 2024.
