Lyocell sheets have a really smooth hand like satin that actually does feel very cool to the touch. Some might like that feeling especially in a blanket / comforter cover if they are hot sleepers and like softer/smoother sheets. I agree though that it's not actually any better than a crisp percale weave or linen.

It depends on the thread count. 1200 thread count cotton. Excellent. 100 thread count cotton, I rather sleep in a raincoat.

Thread count is only applies to 100% cotton. Any cotton mix with man-made material doesn't work, not a reliable index anyway. BTW, thread count sometimes refers to per inch count, sometimes refers to per cm count, sometimes even refers to a lie.
