My experience with InfiMobile has been fine. I tried a 6-month, minimal data plan (500MB/month) with them for a non-critical phone last year. It was dirt-cheap like $18 total so just $3/month. It went fine so I just renewed it for a year for $36 total ($60 - 40% off coupon).

Now because of the whole Red Pocket fiasco, I have moved two important lines over to InfiMobille on their 10GB annual plan for $99. One of the lines is already active for two weeks and no problems so far except initial APN setup (did not do it automatically so I followed online instructions for VZN-based service when I actually had a TMO-based SIM from them).

I have had limited interactions with InfiMobile customer service, which I guess is positive as it means things have worked okay. But when I did chat with them about the APN mixup I just mentioned, it was fine.

Anyway, point is that InfiMobile has worked fine for me, so much so that I have just moved over two important lines from Red Pocket because of the fiasco there. Not saying that my experience will be what everybody has (for example, it did not work well for you). But it seems to be working out well for many folks.

What is this Red Pocket fiasco you speak of? The wife and I, sister-in-law and two nieces have been with them for several years. No complaints.

it is a very interesting comment. did you port your number to this new company or got a new recycled number which may have been opted for subscriptions.

unless you ported your number and received scam activity. my experience have been very good. I bought three 12 month plan, two for my parents as primary service and one for myself as secondary mainly for data. ported my parents numbers to this new plan and i got new number for my case. all have been very good with no scam experience.

I ported my number. Also Amazon reviews show similar experiences.

I've been dropping $180 for Mint Mobiles 12-month plan, 5GB, unlimited everything else for the past 2 years, before that, I had a 1-year plan with some other company, and they were okay, maybe a bit cheaper. It's nice, very nice not to have a monthly bill. I am going to try a new company here when my current plan ends in 5 months and 15 days.

I looked up their promo, the advertised price isn't including taxes so it ends up being like $60 for the year, and after first year it goes to 60 plus taxes which is probably between 80-90, for a 500MB plan that's very bad imo

Darn this looks so cheap compared to Mint's $180 promo (https://slickdeals.net/f/17970564-new-mint-mobile-customers-12-months-unlimited-talk-text-data-180). I've used Mint before so I know the towers are good around my area. The price makes it a very tempting gamble for a new service provider...
pay the extra you will have better service and hotspot if you need it

Not to mention they have added shipping charge on their ebay plans. They even charge shipping fee for renewals as well. $30 annual plan has gone up to $45 + $6 shipping + tax. Thats why people are getting out of RP.
I just need to keep my rp number. Is there a cheaper minutes only plan?

What is making people decide Verizon vs T-Mobile on this carrier when your phone can do either?

I've got both my parents on the 10GB $99 plan. One is on the Verizon network and one is on the T-mobile. No issues getting either up and running and everything has been working flawlessly. We're 3 months in no issues. Got over 120mbps on the Verizon sim (LTE, no 5G here) and was getting around 70ish on T-Mobile 5G (2 bars.) We all live in Minnesota. So far Zero issues and tech support is great (you have to create a ticket and in the email they send you there's a link at the bottom for chat... I chatted with them on Christmas Day about an issue and got it resolved at 6:30am CST.)
I have no idea what the speeds are once the data allotment is used as neither of my parents use that much data.
For all of you sh*t talking it, if you aren't using it don't knock it. So far the best deal I've found feature/price wise.
For reference both lines were previously on Boost Mobile and that company needs to burn in hell!

What horror stories? There are a lot of incredibly stupid people out there when it comes to cell phones. I imagine most of the issues are with people not knowing port information or not knowing if their device is unlocked / or how to unlock a device that is locked.
I've got both parents on it. One on a T-mobile esim and another with the Verizon physical sim. Both rocking iPhone 12 Pro's. They don't use a ton of data but service has been great on both. No issues and believe me they'd let me know if there was.
Honestly for the price and the set of features it comes with it's a fantastic deal. I don't know what their end game is (maybe creating a large customer base in hopes of getting bought out by one of the big 3) but it's definitely a good deal and not too good to be true.

Watch out with Red Pocket. I have purchased multiple yearly plans. They will cut off service one month early. And a year is not 365 days. More like 355 days.

I have to watch them like a hawk. They do resolve the issue if you contact them.
Red Pocket has never cut my service one month early, and I have had as many as 5 lines at once w/them. As for full year, it's 360 days, all you have to do is log in to your account and view your panel, everything is there, including plan expiration date. If something isn't accurate, contact them and they will fix it, well ahead of time. There's no reason to be 'fiasco'ed' by Red Pocket if you simply make a minor effort to look at your account panel which takes 2 minutes of your time a few times a year.

If I have a gripe with Red Pocket now, it's their latest nonsense charging 'shipping' on their Ebay plans which is basically your activation code sent by email. What 'shipping' charge?

And they raised their cheap $30 a year plan (200mb, 100 minutes or whatever its) to $45 a year. I transferred old landline phone #'s to this plan to keep the # active via WiFi calling only. worth it for $2.50 a month to get calls I may have missed otherwise. But $45 a year? Get get a tracfone plan AND a new phone for that money.
