deluxe will cover all that..

I've used premier for K-1s (but no longer hold any stock/MLP in a regular brokerage account ,. MLP's held in an IRA don't require K-1s to be filed)

also, for 1099 income and business deductions, I've found premier gets the job done.

Taxpayers whose AGI is $79,000 or less qualify for a free federal tax return.
So that most likely excludes mostly everyone reading through this thread.
There are several free federal options regardless of income. FreeTaxUSA ($15 state), Cash App Taxes (free state on this one), and OLT.com ($10 state). IRS Direct File is good to go up to $200k income. Some states let you file directly on their website for free.

I always add in the cost of all my tax prep fees on my return to get that money back on my refund.
I don't think you can do that any more unless you're self-employed:

I hate it how i have to use the Premier Level to get my taxes done. When the original Deluxe used to cover Schedule C, 1099's and even gave you a State included.

I'm not even sure why anyone would buy Deluxe with State Not Included.

What's funny is at least my state charges you money for paper filing. They do have a free electronic system though.
intuit likes to make you think you need premier for this, but you can do it all with the download version of deluxe. There is deluxe with and without state included. You do need premier if you go for the online version though.

You are correct. We had a apartment complex and rentals along with stocks and Deluxe (desktop) has all the forms needed including the K-1's. If I remember correctly they both has the same forms included just the premier has a more in-depth walk thru for them.

Keep in mind the desktop version of Deluxe has the same forms as the Premier

For those following this, check this thread.

Summary:
You can buy Turbotax using the Fidelity link (you don't need to be a customer!), select the desktop software (instructions are in the thread) for $52.50 (Deluxe plus State), and I have a Chase $20 cashback bringing this to $32.50.

Instructions:
- Check your credit company for cashback (Chase is your best bet), activate this and use this credit card for checkout
- Go here [fidelity.com], and click on the 'Visit Turbotax' link
- When you land on the TurboTax landing page - from the Fidelity affiliate link - click "Do it yourself" at the top and then select "Doing taxes with Desktop software." You will then come to a page with the products and their strikethrough pricing options, which will include the Fidelity discount.
- Purchase the product using the credit card with the cashback discount. My cashback is $20, but I'm seeing $5 on some of my other credit cards, so YMMV. I used my Amazon Prime credit card (with the $20 cashback) for the additional 2% cashback.
