The product photo is for 48 21 J2 165 mm. Knipex 48 21 J41 305 mm is the actual model offered on the Amazon page. So the handle on the 48 21 J41 will be longer. It is also the more expensive version due to the longer handles. $17 is very good price for this model.

Note:
Letters denoted in the part number indicates the following:
J : circlips in bore holes.
A : circlips on shaft

While Knipex make good pliers, a snap ring pliers is not something that one would need a super-high-quality pliers for. Virtually anything in the discount bin at Harbor Freight or Autozone should be good enough.

Wow, $32.73 now. I'd never have gotten it at this price but given the relative low price, I thought I'd give it a shot. The only one I have is the all-in-one convertible internal external ones from Channellock, which work fine for my needs most of the time.

If you are using it once in awhile that may be the case. However, if you are using it assemble and disassemble parts often, quality tools that are made with proper specs, angles, finish, resistance, etc will provide a better experience. These pliers are rigid with minimal flex and provide good precision. All tools are not made the same just as all cars are not.

Definitely agree here. If you're a mechanic or a technician, this would be a good choice.

I received mine today - I ordered them before I posted this deal; It turns out you were absolutely correct - they're huge, with probably 12-13" handles, and the tips that engage a snap ring are larger than you'd see on most autos; Most likely they're for HD trucks or tractor repair. I guess I'll have to either return or flip them. Just thought I'd circle back and share.
