This is a very good deal but at the end of the day if I spend $600 on a monitor I don't need then I lost. What to do

Jumped on this. I haven't been following for so long but OLED and under $600 is a steal. Thanks.

Even the non OLED model is worth this price.

You need to login to your EDU account to see the 576 price. If you don't have an EDU account, you're not going to be able to get that price

Looking to use this as my primary work monitor (typical corporate WFH job) - no gaming monitor need here. Currently have 2 27" monitors + laptop. Looking to replace the 2 monitors with 1 49".
Anyone have experience for using for job - particularly on the screen split capabilities. If it's efficient/practical on single 49" monitor or 2 27" monitors.
PS: fair to assume the best way to connect is via usb c direct connect into laptop? Or hdmi? Or via dock?

Big thanks to those who spoke up about the C1 20% trick
I managed to get back $112 in rewards that I will redeem for GCs later on
$548 (pretax) - $112 - $27 (5% chase paypal) = $409 pretax
Now just gotta sell my 49" AOC that I got for $400 from Amazon 2 years ago to come out even 😁

Same situation for me in fact - though I will be using this for gaming as well. Would be nice to know how to set up as 2 different screens as i often have to screen share while working on the second screen.

I just got a 34-inch Alienware from another current deal, today, and this is my first OLED monitor. I was worried about text clarity because I read a lot of text for work, but when I started using it, I haven't noticed any difference from my previous 27-inch 1440p Dell. Either people sit too closely to their screens, or maybe they fixed it, or maybe it's my eyes, but I found the text clarity to be perfectly fine on mine.
Not an expert here but isn't it possible that your Alienware example just means it has a better pixel layout? I don't think your text experience on the 34" Alienware stands as an example of what the 49" OLED from Samsung with a triangular subpixel layout will look like.

True, and a good point, but since Dell uses Samsung QD-OLED panels, I was under the impression they're pretty much the same, especially as far as the pixel layout goes. Many reviews mentioned the same text clarity concern with AW monitors, but for me, they look fine.

It's not listed on my favorite site to resell.

How much do you think it would sell for?
I was thinking $900 after looking at FB and CL, but then just noticed that those G9s I was looking at last night on those sites were the 240Hz 1000R models.

These G91SD models are on sale right now at a variety places, including Costco for $850, so Im thinking now that more like $750 or $800 might be what Id aim for if I ended up selling it.

This has 50% more pixels. The form factor is completely different. The aspect ratio is completely different. They're really not meant to be compared.
They are both marketed as gaming monitors, no?

Damn it, why cant Samsung just PM a second monitor for me? Yes, Im venting and this is a first-world problem, but still. I just ordered last night, just add a second monitor at the same price to the order.

Now, Im stuck buying a second one at $749 to stack them together and get rid of the 4x 3440x1440 Dells that I have.

It's the Q4 bonus for freedom flex cards
5% cashback in points for purchasing via paypal which you can redeem for cash/credit
$1 = 100 points
$548 x 5 = 2740 points = $27
