I bought one of the first versions of this monitor (same resolution and same 1000R curve) for work and ended up returning it, mainly due to the aggressive 1000R curve. While the immersion was absolutely mind-blowing for full screen gaming, for work tasks I found that having the full FOV 'in focus' at all times made me less productive via overstimulation. As in, because my Slack/Intercom/Email were all easily visible at all times without moving my eyes, I would feel like I could not focus on one task and would stress myself out with the information overload. When I switched to the same monitor (49", 5120x1440 resolution) but with a 1800R curve, I felt like I could still see everything I needed to at all times, but I had to physically move my eyes to focus on more than say 2 applications at once, which helps to keep me focused on individual tasks. Another consideration is that the aggressive 1000R curve and bulk of the first monitor made it so I couldn't also have a secondary screen for passive applications unless I wanted to physically move my head a significant distance to look at the second screen. So I would sometimes miss notifications on the second screen. This is because the sweet spot of the 1000R curve monitor requires you to sit in a very specific vertical spot, which limits your visibility to other areas outside that sweet spot without moving your head 30 degrees up or down. The 1800R screen's curve is much more subtle, allowing me to have another 34" monitor mounted directly above it and still have it be in my peripheral vision without moving my head. I use that secondary monitor for apps like a calendar which are handy to see notifications for, but not important enough to be in focus at all times.
So Tl;Dr: Using a more subtlety curved 1800R screen and a secondary monitor together allows me to better manage what is in my FOV and my peripheral vision vs using a 1000R screen which takes up my entire FOV by itself.
Some other notes that might be handy to reference for why this setup suits my use case:

I work in a specialized customer support role that requires using multiple different applications to resolve issues. Most of my coworkers end up switching tabs/windows very often via a one/two traditional screen setup, and I tend to work faster than them in most situations by keeping those applications visible on my monitors at all times. Ie, I save time switching tabs/windows by just keeping them on screen. Work smarter not harder.
I've been recognized/praised at my company multiple times for being "very quick to respond to messages" which is 99% the result of always keeping our internal messaging app visible at all times. I see any messages in my peripheral vision as soon as they arrive, and it's easy brownie points to respond quickly from there.
I divide my 49", 5120x1440 monitor into 4 sections, and my secondary 34" 3440x1440 monitor into two sections. The 34" monitor is mounted above the 49", and contains my weekly calendar + one of our internal messaging tools. Bottom monitor contains all my primary work applications.
I run all of this on a MacBook M3 pro, however at my last job I did a very similar thing with a half decent Lenovo laptop via its thunderbolt and HDMI output.
Hope this helps someone.

Looking to use this as my primary work monitor (typical corporate WFH job) - no gaming monitor need here. Currently have 2 27" monitors + laptop. Looking to replace the 2 monitors with 1 49".
Anyone have experience for using for job - particularly on the screen split capabilities and screen share part of the screen (not by application). If it's efficient/practical on single 49" monitor or 2 27" monitors.
PS: fair to assume the best way to connect is via usb c direct connect into laptop? Or hdmi? Or via dock

Came from 2 , 24 inch monitors for work. Works great and you can setup the screen into zones for productivity. Avoided oled which would lead to burn in with static items.

this has 240hz, more curve, non-oled. better is subjective as they are different. but IMHO, oled was much better deal.

Any issues with movement/scrolling ghosting or smearing with dark background/white text? The last VA panel I had was bad for dark mode text.

How about sharing screen via zoom. Are we forced to share entire 49" screen or can share certain zones?

You can zone and even partition two areas with different HDMI/DP ports and it's pretty intuitive last I remembered. I was super hyped over this monitor a while back but I had to get rid of it after 3-4 months. Certain sections of the monitor was plagued by terrible scan line effects and it's a known issue that they can't fix. They said the newer manufactured displays fixed the problem but after getting 3 technicians to swap out the display panel/lcd and main board I gave up and went back to two 27" monitors. Gaming-wise, it's nice for nonFPS games but for FPS competitive games I almost always had to window the screen leaving an awkward space on the sides. If you can tolerate some pixelated corners or sections then it's a fine monitor to WFH with, but for my usage and OCD it didn't fit my needs
