took a $10 coupon off of here last month and they didn't take it so i had to pay full price for a horrible haircut. not worth the risk for me sadly

Great Clips is $23-28 in SF bay area so this is a great deal for me.

Because they get paid well, the hair stylists are generally pretty decent.

For those who are wondering, they get paid the minimum wage ($15) plus tips so they probably make $30+ an hour

It worked for me. $18 haircut for $10. South Florida.

Keep on going until you find a great hair stylist. Then go strictly to that one from then on.

exactly! it is too cheap to call and even then there will be somebody else who will not honor the coupon.

Yes it's cheap and they butcher your hair. Unless you get a super simple cut I wouldn't recommend.

Thanks OP, needed a haircut this weekend, unfortunately the closest one is about 33 miles away. With my gas guzzling truck to drive out there and back would cost me an additional $14 just in gas so I'll go to my local barber. I guess I need to get rid of this truck, even with cheap gas, to get all these great Slickdeals.

Like all salons, it all depends on the skill of the stylist.

I do have a somewhat simple clipper cut (#5 guard on top, #2 on sides/back... and no, I'm not brave enough to do it myself) but even I've had one or two instances where I'm not as happy with the results.

I do go to the same location, have for decades, so I know the stylists at at that location pretty well, and most of them are very good. I couldn't get into my regular location once, so I tried going to a different one... walked in, got a bad vibe, and walked right back out and decided to wait to get into the place that I trust.

I've always gotten excellent haircuts from my stylist. However, I will say that I have never seen a young woman get her hair cut at Great Clips. They just don't trust the place and their appearance is all important to them, understandably.

Why are you in this thread? Don't like great clips, move on. My location is great - reserve ahead means very little wait, nice clean hygienic operation and the staff is great - the scissors are just flying through the hair - years of experience shows.

The coupon is good but you're not lying. Here in Florida my last full priced Geat Clips cut was methed up. She usually does a pretty decent job.

Has anyone here used this in Oregon, specifically Portland? Wondering if they accept it or not? Two months ago I had a $19.99 coupon and the guy at the Great Clips here snarked at me.. wondering what they'll do if I bring the $9.99 coupon in? Wish places could just honor it without making snide comments
