I had 1-gigabit internet with Xfi Complete (for unlimited data) for a couple of years and was paying $115/month. I was tired of spending so much, so I called to decrease the plan or find any promotions. I got an upgrade to 2-gigabit with a 2-year contract for $88.

The 2-gigabit plan was not an option online.
Number I called: 1-800-934-6489
(I had to go through many menus to talk to a real person.)
Your mileage and availability may vary.

Note: I understand that I will not even be able to utilize 2-gigabit on most of my devices, but I plan to run some new CAT6 and get a 2.5Gb switch for my primary desktop.

How do you have two accounts? I'd like to get in on this deal but I'm the sole adult in this household.

Two adults in my household, so just constantly switching off between us. I'm sure there's a way to do it with a single adult but I have not looked into it.

when I'm logged into my xfinity account, and I click change plans, I always get a message "We're sorry.
Please contact us and one of our friendly and knowledgeable representatives can help." So I can't even see which plans are available. I don't believe 2GB is here, but over the last few weeks I would get text messages from them saying they were working in the area to improve the service. I believe I'm on their 1200 plan

Literally in the post it says "2-year contract."
Does not matter, sometimes year 1 is discounted... Then goes up a bit for year 2
.. that is what I have seen lately Xfinity do.

We currently got just out of the promo and will be cutting TV completely, and downscaling to 500Mbps service (no promo) ...

Recently left Shitfinity for AT&T after 7 years for $55/1gb unlimited, zero regrets. Feeling genuinely bad for folks limited to this crap of a service with their "deals".

Chicago too. I wanted ATT Fiber but it's not in my area. 3 blocks west of me on the same street it is because it's a different city

All these deals will be ymmv depending on where you live. I got 800 Meg for $60 a month in August of 2023. Looking recently on their website it looks like I wouldn't even be able to get a deal like that anymore as a new customer
Same in this area. Mere months ago they had some pretty good promos rates, but not anymore, especially for anything uncapped which I need. 150 @ $20 for 12mo + the $25 for complete to get unlimited is as cheap as it gets, then goes to almost $95. Otherwise 1200 @ $80 for 24mos is as good as it gets for longer than just 1yr. All the other tiers in between land within -$5 to +$10 by the time you configure with no cap. Fortunately both T-Mobile and Verizon 5g works well enough here. Been on T-Mobile for awhile. Not as consistent or good as a normal wired ISP but works well enough for me, and sooo much cheaper.

Decent price for the speed. Jump on it if you're in the market

I have the 1.2Gb and get uploads at about 350-450M. You need business class to get faster uploads.

I thought the 1.2Gb plan was over cable and not fiber? XFinity fiber (fiber ran all the way into the house) in our area is the same down speed as the up speed and you usually get the full 1Gb/2Gb speeds. But they are rated the worst fiber internet in KC because of their stability. (They always have outages)

We have a few other wireless options but they cost more than $35 I'm paying Comcast for 300D/100U/unlimited data/modem.
Btw, 1Gbps for residential is nut. 2Gbps is crazy.

Seriously suspect this is one of those contract-term deals where the price skyrockets to 150% after 1-2 years. Haven't seen that mentioned yet.
With Xfinity they always are. What I tend to do is after the contract expires I go online and change my service to whatever deal they have going on. Normally I can refresh it and its the same deal they would offer if I called them. Only way you can get better is if you are steps away from cancelling but you have to do some work/acting to get that.

These deals are highly targeted, not generally available. This needs to be YMMV.
not targeted, its a regular deal for any customer, no contract. existing account i could simply "switch" to this plan. New accounts can sign up with this public plan

Thank you OP! Got in on the deal 2g for $88 unlimited data. Getting new router, doubling our speed at $40 savings from what we were paying for 2 years.
What area? I'm in Chicago. I pay $130 I believe

Please note that none of these deals have symmetric download and upload speeds. For example a 1.2 GB download comes with a measly 40 MB upload speed. This will prove to be a bottle neck in many cases as to what speeds you will experience.
