I had 1-gigabit internet with Xfi Complete (for unlimited data) for a couple of years and was paying $115/month. I was tired of spending so much, so I called to decrease the plan or find any promotions. I got an upgrade to 2-gigabit with a 2-year contract for $88.

The 2-gigabit plan was not an option online.
Number I called: 1-800-934-6489
(I had to go through many menus to talk to a real person.)
Your mileage and availability may vary.

Note: I understand that I will not even be able to utilize 2-gigabit on most of my devices, but I plan to run some new CAT6 and get a 2.5Gb switch for my primary desktop.

This really needs to have "YMMV" in the title. Majority of customers won't be able to replicate this deal.
Seriously. I can't even call them up for a better deal without having them attempt to offer me a "free" iPad.

It's $85 here and $75 with auto pay. Not a deal?
That is a deal. I have AT&T 1GBps up and down for $80. It was $65 but has gone up this past 2 years. But, I get free Max (formerly HBO Max) for life as long as I keep my grand-fathered plan. So kind of evens out.

I wish Cox had unlimited data. 1.25tb is a joke. then $10 for every 50gb over.
1 Gbps and up inside unlimited data. It's $15 a month for it otherwise.

In my area, Xfinity pretty much holds a monopoly on high-speed internet. The representative I spoke to acted like the deal I mentioned wasn't in their system and tried to push some less appealing offers. Then she said the deal was only for new customers and there was nothing she could do. Xfinity has always been tough with their offers around here, likely because they have no competition. Honestly, if there was another option than xfinity —even with slightly slower speeds like 300 or 400 Mbps—I'd switch in a heartbeat!
i switched to tmobile from xfinity and it's been great in my area. I'm usually clost to 1Gbps down and 100Mps up whenever I decide to check my speeds. I was able to test it for a month before finally switching over for $30 bucks a month.
Using it for WFH with zoom connected all day, gaming, including FPS, and have not had any issues. Unloaded and loaded latency was even lower than my comcast during the trial.
Just understand that coverage varies by location and the amount of people using it in the area. I've had it for over a year and it's only gotten faster.
I was very skeptical of 5G home wireless until I tried it myself. Doesn't hurt to try if its available in your area.

I looked at xfinity last night and they seem to only have 10mb upload. That would impact things like zoom or uploading files if you work from home. Are you seeing different upload speeds?

Unfortunately, my 5G coverage is pretty poor. Xfinity seems to be aware of this, which is why they never offer any good deals in my neighborhood 😔

Damn I need to call them to get a new deal. Needed that xFi coz I was always going over the data limit.
Internet: Gigabit Extra Internet $109.00
xFi Complete $25.00

I also just received an email about Xfinity Technology Upgrade Program. Is this legit? I hope it's not one of those shady deals where they promise to provide you free little square HDTV boxes, but they start charging you $10/month without notification.

Depends on your region and where in the upgrade queue your home is.

w/o mid-splits: 24 to 40
/w mid-splits (x2): 115 to 300
X-Class: 300 to 2000

I think those are the general "normal" plans so not counting special lines, i.e. Gigabit Pro fiber that costs $300/month. 10 sounds like old info, but maybe somewhere out there still only gets that.
