I had 1-gigabit internet with Xfi Complete (for unlimited data) for a couple of years and was paying $115/month. I was tired of spending so much, so I called to decrease the plan or find any promotions. I got an upgrade to 2-gigabit with a 2-year contract for $88.

The 2-gigabit plan was not an option online.
Number I called: 1-800-934-6489
(I had to go through many menus to talk to a real person.)
Your mileage and availability may vary.

Note: I understand that I will not even be able to utilize 2-gigabit on most of my devices, but I plan to run some new CAT6 and get a 2.5Gb switch for my primary desktop.

What does the price jump to after contract? This is what I pay right now for 800/35 so 2 years of 2gig for the same price is nice but would like to know what happens after.
Called numerous times prior to my 2yr 1,200Mbps contract's end this month, but they refused to extend or offer an equivalent.
On Thursday though I was able to get the new customer 2 Gig for $80/month with unlimited (no 1.2TB cap) and zero equipment fees by walking into a corporate store and switching the account from my wife's name to mine...chose a 2-year contract term to lock it in. No prospect for fiber at my service address.
Had them throw in a line of Xfinity Mobile for a year for 'free' (you pay ~$2 taxes/fees) as part of the deal, but the rep says you can drop it after 90 days.
Monthly bill would've jumped $25 without the account switch to be considered a 'new' customer.

As a xfinity customer you have to be a hotspot. This means share your connection/speed. If you disable this they turn it back on.

The only thing I can say is this company is the most miserable to deal with . If you don't cancel by the time this offer ends forget 150.00 it will probably be 200 or higher. They will make sure you get their equipment because that is also part of the scam.

Is your Astound $20/mo before or after fees? They charge $16.93/mo "Network access and maintenance fee" here on top of $20 for 300
I pay a flat $20 each month. That I presume includes any fees or taxes.

Xfinity raised my bill from $60/month for 800, to $99 a month starting 1/1. Even after going to 300, it's still $65/month. However, I live in an area serviced by Astound, and they offer 1 Gig for $45/month. The choice is clear! Xfinity can go Ef themselves. As it is now, I have both, paying only $20/month for Astound 300. I have had zero problems for the past year with Astound. Fortunately, I can have both connected to MY router as it can handle 2 ISP's on it.
What kind of router are you using?

They provide an all-in-one with a 2Gb port.

However I just put it in bridge mode and use my own stuff. Also, open up the modem case and disconnect the WiFi antennas, because there's no way to disable the WiFi even in bridge mode.
Interesting you had to do this. I've been using the XB8 for 6 months and I put it in bridge mode day one. Using my Asus 6e instead. I don't see any Xfinity wifi bands coming from it. I even turned off the "free wifi log in mode" whatever the hell it's called. I can't remember the setting for it but it was easy to find in the app.

I was able to lower my current bill to $90, my 2 years was ready to expire on my old deal. This is almost $20 cheaper than what I was paying.

You could use your own modem/router for slower connections, or put their's in bridge mode. If all else fails, and they keep turning it on, you could disconnect the wifi antennas.

Seriously suspect this is one of those contract-term deals where the price skyrockets to 150% after 1-2 years. Haven't seen that mentioned yet.
Yep, I forgot to mark my calendar and ended up paying double my bill. I highly recommend marking your calendar at least a month ahead to give yourself time to shop around because 2 years passes by quicker than you think and you will likely forget.

Be careful with this. Last time they had this deal they REQUIRED you to use their device(s) for Unlimited Data. Almost screwed myself with that and now I have to use their POS device.

i switched to tmobile from xfinity and it's been great in my area. I'm usually clost to 1Gbps down and 100Mps up whenever I decide to check my speeds. I was able to test it for a month before finally switching over for $30 bucks a month.
Using it for WFH with zoom connected all day, gaming, including FPS, and have not had any issues. Unloaded and loaded latency was even lower than my comcast during the trial.
Just understand that coverage varies by location and the amount of people using it in the area. I've had it for over a year and it's only gotten faster.
I was very skeptical of 5G home wireless until I tried it myself. Doesn't hurt to try if its available in your area.
which area are you in? wondering if it's good in the SF bay area

That's a great deal.

I just called and they offered me nothing. I'm going to try to go into the physical Xfinity store later today.
