I had 1-gigabit internet with Xfi Complete (for unlimited data) for a couple of years and was paying $115/month. I was tired of spending so much, so I called to decrease the plan or find any promotions. I got an upgrade to 2-gigabit with a 2-year contract for $88.
The 2-gigabit plan was not an option online.
Number I called: 1-800-934-6489
(I had to go through many menus to talk to a real person.)
Your mileage and availability may vary.
Note: I understand that I will not even be able to utilize 2-gigabit on most of my devices, but I plan to run some new CAT6 and get a 2.5Gb switch for my primary desktop.

No thanks!
What was the upload offered?
Most Comcast plans are/were limited to 35mbps tops on the upload prior to their misplit upgrade. If your area has been upgraded to midsplit, you'll get at least 100mbps upload on most plans Connect More(200mbps down) and above. Gigabit gets 175mbps up & Gigabit x2 gets 300Mbps.
If you're REALLY lucky and live on an FDX area, you'll get symetrical for all the plans. Of note, you'll need to use their gateways to get these new uploads or modems designated as "Next Gen Capable" on their lists. As For FDX symetrical, you're stuck using their equipment as there are no Docsis 4.0 modems available to the public yet.
