Anyone who works as a nurse or in medical field in general I recommend the brooks ghost. I buy them for my wife who does 12hr shifts in hospital and they have lasted her 2 years when other brands only last 6 months.

I'm a nurse working 12.5-hour shifts, and I got the Brooks Glycerin GTS 21s—absolutely worth it. By hour 10, my heels feel slightly bothered, but overall, they're a huge improvement compared to the generic Reebok running shoes I was using before. They also run true to size in my case. I have no clue how long they'll last though, I've had them since August and do about 16 to 20k steps each day I work.

The stores seem to be awash with these sneakers at these prices; Nordstrom Rack for one. You gotta conclude that the msrp's and discounts are nonsense.

On Running Cloudrift Shoes (Magnet/Grey Mist) $84.99

Almost purchased these, but noticed last minute that the color in the picture is black/white and what's being sold is magnet/grey-mist. You can check on Amazon how those look. It's not the best color.

If you have a medium foot and buy a wide size, is there a noticeable difference? How can you tell you need wide? There are quite a few wide sizes available for colors I want not in my medium size.

Which brooks ghost version does she have? I've heard that the later versions of Asics, brooks, hokas, etc don't last as long due to increased usage of recycled materials. Not sure if this is true or not though, but I did notice my newer versions of Asics seemed to lose its cushion and tread sooner than my older ones (which I'm still using). But that's just my own anecdotal evidence.
