Yeah it has a more rich additive package designed for engines working hard towing/hauling molybdenum and boron are higher in addition to detergents

Read a previous deal on the 5qt where someone bought also some 1qt and looked at the label manufactured date on them and it was 5 years old. Just an fyi for anyone buying them to check

Just changed my oil today from this deal following the last FP post. FYI, for those getting this the 5 quart is also YMMV. Went to get this and found the 5Q in 0W-20 for $13.

Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention. Will use it in my 2003 Ford Taurus. Hope it will not cause any harm.

Advance Auto/Carquest is closing 700 stores including all stores in California, Oregon, Washington, and parts of Nevada. The company is based on the East Coast and will continue to operate the remaining 4000 stores despite these stores closing. Parts from behind the counter are 80-90% off and are the best deals to be had. I recently purchased air conditioning compressors for around 30 bucks, complete strut assemblies $10, water pumps $8, alternators $20, etc. the items in the front of the store range from 40-90 percent off. The liquidation has been going on for over a month now. My understanding is they want to be done by March 5. They are not filling online orders in Tucson, Arizona and their website has been wiped clean of the stores here and in the affected states. For parts that have warranties, they can be warrantied through the Advance Auto app or by taking into a location that is open and not part of these closing stores. It's the best deal on auto Parts I have ever seen. Inventory is diminishing in my area, but there is still a lot of inventory remaining.

I wouldn't downplay additives in oil for higher wear properties. But there's is always a cost/consequence. For example, Diesel truck oil used a lot more Zinc in the past, zddp,I believe. Oil companies discontinued the use of it because it can harm emissions/catalytics that are found on newer light trucks.

Put in an order for a bunch but they only had a few. At least they called to let me know. Meh, Walmart SuperTech syn is only like $2 more per 5qts and everything has been running happily on it for years
