One really important thing to note, and the reason I cancelled my subscription, is that effective March 1st 2025, instacart+ members no longer get reduced service fees. I just checked and my order from Costco on Dec 1 had a service fee of $5.75, which was reduced to a dollar and change because of instacart+. Be prepared to pay that entire fee come March.

I would highly recommend keeping an eye out in your email for promotions for stores. I had an ALDI $20 off $50 (not the highest discount), but I could use it three times. I used discounted gift cards from Costco too. The first two times I used that promotion I was not offered the $19 price. I used it last night, and the $19 membership finally showed up. I was going to pay $1.99 for store pickup but it was removed since I got the subscription. I also noticed in the app that I have $25 off $35 for restaurants I need to use.

If that's the same $25 off restaurant deal that I had (I think it is) it's actually not $25 off $35 0r more. It was 50% off of $35 or more with a max discount of $25.
So it would take a $50 order to get $25 off.

I started to order on that 'deal', but cancelled the order when I saw Instacart was charging approx $12.50 in an up front 'service fee' which was even before the other fees and tip added in.

Awh, mine says "Save $25 when you order $35 or more." With a subtotal of $37.10, the promotion takes off $25 and then there are $0.74 for taxes and the total comes out to $12.84. The promotion I have must be YMMV. I also have it set for pickup, so I do not have to deal with the service fees and other fees.

Nobody will listen to me but warning you all not to do it. I signed up 7 months ago and have had the same $51 remaining in gift card money in my account because they haven't thrown me one promotion good enough to make an order. It all correlates to the day I signed up for the $19 deal.... Wish I never would have done it.

If ad-free peacock matters to you, just be aware you're unable to upgrade the free instacart version to "Plus" for $6/mo like you would a normal plan. If you want ad-free you're better off with the $19/yr black friday deals & paying $6/mo for Plus

There is no point to pay full price for premium unless you need immediate delivery every time. The free version lets you schedule free delivery on 3 hour windows and the next day.

What kind of promotions were you getting before? I'm on the $19 plan and I still see $10 off on different stores etc. I think instacart is totally worth it especially with gift cards at Costco always 20% off, brings the cost in line with store pricing.

Every time I go to use my Instacart+, after seeing $10+ in fees and tips, I just say no, not to mention the prices of the items are higher.

Convenient but not cheap.
