Rayon NOT a plastic, not from oil. It's wood-based fiber, cellulose, practically paper.

cheap plastic clothing = microplastic nightmare for the environment

"Rayon fibers have been found in the gastrointestinal tracts of fish and in deep sea microplastic debris. A study found that rayon was the dominant polymer in microplastics in the environment, accounting for 54–82% of the total."

Great, so now we can't eat fish because they may contain micro plastics.

We should start growing and killing more plants and animals so we can make more safe and sustainable packaging and clothing.

pretty standard. i'm in between S and M and I sized up to M. It's thin so will only shrink little bit after 1st wash

I wear a medium and it shrank in length pretty significantly with a warm wash, cool dry. I think if I sized up to a large, it would be way too wide and probably not too much longer. Wouldn't order again. Maybe you'll be fine if you just wash cold, dry cool.

wrong, rayon is NOT wood, and rayon is NOT the only plastic in the sweatshirts in question... and no, not all plastics are made from oil:

"Some fibers, such as rayon, which has a cellulose base material that is dissolved from the original plant material and reprocessed into fibers, are considered semisynthetic plastics (Mendes, Prates, and Evtuguin 2021)." https://mp-1.itrcweb.org/microplastics/

"In microplastics detection, fragment was the most abundant shape (~36%), and rayon was the dominant polymer (~59%)." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35123274/

"Across all sites and environmental mediums, rayon (synthetically altered cellulose) was the dominant polymer (54–82 %), followed by acrylic (6–23 %) and polyester (9–17 %). Fibres were the dominant shape (95–99 %) and blue was the most common colour (48–79 %). Across water and sediment environmental mediums, the number of microplastics per sample increased from the source of the Ganges to the sea. Additionally, higher population densities correlated with increased microplastic abundance for air and water samples. We suggest that clothing is likely to be the prominent source of microplastics to the river system, influenced by atmospheric deposition, wastewater and direct input (e.g. handwashing of clothes in the Ganges), especially in high density population areas." https://www.sciencedirect.com/sci...9723052658
