That may not happen at all by design with any of these. They compress the sandwich and its contents with heat and will make the cheese to melt and pour out. Unless you're super careful and put cheese only in the middle of the sandwich, which may not be ideal for even distribution

aye, but given how many nooks/crannies they have, any cheese pour out becomes a large mess, and defeats the whole point of it.

Any comments on the size of this for somewhat normal size of bread? It's difficult to make a guess by reading the confusing plate's dimensions shown in one of those photos. It says 8.4" x 4.9" and then shows 8.4" for the top plate depth and 8.1" for bottom plate. Wouldn't it be same? Also, if I add 4.9" times two, that would be 9.8" whereas the photo shows 8.7".

I have tried couple/three different ones in recent past and had to return all of those because bread wouldn't fully fit inside.

Complete junk. Many complaints regarding handle breaking at first use.

Doesn't actually make sandwiches. You still have to do it yourself.

$6 delivered for something that might make decent grilled cheese sandwiches while I work. WTF why not.

Damn the recent amazon reviews are all brutal. The handle seems to be a major weak point of this machine.
