My wife's membership just expired so good timing.
Just a word of warning though. They gave my wife a hard time trying to return a vacuum cleaner that started shortening out after 5 months. They attempted to claim that it was an "Electronic" so under the 90 day returns policy. It took a lot of going back and fourth and finally I found the SamsClub web page where under a vacuum it says "Return any time". We showed them the difference between a tv that says "90 days" and the vacuum that says "anytime", only then did they rudely accept the return. Managers from what I'm reading are now attempting to do this with everything that takes electric such as blenders, foodsavers etc. This was never the case in the past.
From the pre Covid days customer service has gone downhill. For 35 bucks though I'll stick with them let my Costco membership become more expired until I can sign up with a promo with them again. It's best if you can trade on and off between Costco and Sam's and you and your spouse, to always get a new customer deal!
If anyone wants a comparison. Costco has more organics, healthy food such as avocado mayo. Costco has better hot dogs and Pizza at the food court. But they don't offer sauerkraut and if you get pizza at Costco and want parmesan cheese, you cannot grab it yourself, so you have to ask some cheap dude at the counter who wants to give you 3 packs for an entire pizza. Ice cream at Costco is $2.50 where at Sam's food court it's only $1.00. But the employees are lazy and don't like to stand there a few extra seconds at sams to fill it to the top.

That's the only way I found to reuse the prior email address and get this $20 deal.
If you use a completely new/different email address, then yes the prior address-account will be inactive and purchase history will still be visible. Of course new purchase records will be on the new address-account.
