I have had several flexvolts fail, too. Had them replaced under warranty and since I had nothing to lose, took the side covers off to inspect. In each failed battery it was just a set of cells out of balance with the others. Slide the red shipping cover on (it isolates the cells from each other), use a bench power supply ($65 Amazon) set to 4.0V 2.0 amps to charge each cell individually to match, when all match put it in the dewalt charger and now they all work good again!

FWIW after eBay fees and shipping the DCS356 looks to only be worth about $45-50. So yea, even after selling off the tool (assuming the sale is on fleaBay) you're still looking at about $50 a piece here. If you happen to need/want all three, then I think it's a good deal.

$10/ah is a pretty good price.

This is a great deal - I just picked up the 2x5ah kit from fasteners inc for $100, but would have loved to get a multitool for $50 more.

I have had more Dewalt batteries fail on me in recent times (2 years) than any other brand by far. And Dewalt warranty replacement? Took over a month each time. About to completely dump Dewalt which would be unfortunate as I have a ton of their stuff.

The $99 Fasteners deal also included a 4A charger, so really about the same.

That stinks. I'd be frustrated. I've had great luck with Dewalt. 3 x 3 amp, 1 x5amp, and one 9amp 60v that came with a great deal for a blower trimmer battery combo for 199

Cool, in for 1. Needed a couple more larger Ah batteries, multi tool for like an additional $40-50 seems like a really good deal

Haha shit, you're right it did. I called customer service to see if they can cancel the order, they said it's already in processing but they'll try to cancel it and let me know. Or worst case refund the $10 and send the tool or something. We'll see

This is a good deal, I have only one 5ah battery and have always wanted to get more. That battery is still going strong. Have an impact wrench, reciprocating saw and spotlight. The battery is used mostly for the spotlight, and switched to the impact wrench and recip saw only when needed. So far it has worked fine, thus I have not gotten any additional batteries. Tbh, the oscillating tool is very useful, wished I had bought that 10 years ago when I moved into my first home. It would have made so many jobs much easier, even a job 2 weeks ago, but over the years I have managed to use other tools I have to get the job done. It is very tempting, but will pass again (till I have 2 or 3 more Dewalt tools before I get additional batteries).
