Ecoworthy /dc house sell 48v batteries id buy before this - this one is a decent deal but doesnt have the built in Bluetooth bms. Check out the dc house 48v with Bluetooth on eBay should be under 700 or in that range with the charger

These keep dropping in price. I bought a couple of these during black friday for $373 for an off grid system. They have been working great so far. No complaints. Thinking if I should pick up another 2.

This would be great for that so 48v x 200amp = 9600watts sustained discharge peak is something like 40,000 watts. But peak is like a few seconds.

yes you can, but the smaller battery will run out first. Parallel is tolerant of different sizes, it's when they are in series that they should be same size. Because in series when the smallest dies, it lowers the output voltage.

I'm building a partial home backup with these. I've got 8. At 48v it's ~26.8kw roughly. They're not small, but I guess there's some "airspace" in the box itself. They have good reviews and seem to use quality cells. Pretty good price for the capacity.

I forgot to add..... parallel significantly different size batteries is tolerant of the size difference, but there is a major drawback, lifespan. Because of the difference in size there is a difference in voltage and as such there is constant self balancing going on. This digs into the lifespan of the batteries and the greater the size difference, the greater the voltage difference and the shorter the lifespan becomes. So if the difference is say 9% or less in capacity the reduction in lifespan will be significantly less than if the difference is 50% in capacity.

Nearly 3k for 26.8kw battery sounds insanely good and insanely low. I know inverter is not included, but damn! Great deal

Curious to why 48v? Don't you get more KWh if you ran lower voltage?

The capacity of the battery is the capacity. A 12v battery at 2x the amp hours will give you the same as a battery double the voltage and half the amp hours.

The other part of the picture is wiring. You need bigger wire for low voltage high amps than you do high volt low amps. Also efficiency comes in to play, but for a small scale implementation as far as the electricity itself goes, it's usually pretty negligible, and as for efficiency as far as things like inverters go, that's a wild card as they can vary quite a bit even at the same voltage. For example a 48v inverter should be theoretically more efficient, but you could easily have a good 12v inverter that is more efficient than a cheap low quality 48v one of the same output rating. All that sort of thing.
