FWIW I've had luck buying GC in the past and just using it wherever. That trick works well when the offer excludes (or includes) only certain properties. e.g. let's say it was only for Residence Inns. So, go to a Residence Inn, buy a GC, then use it at any property. Never had an issue getting the AE credit. The larger issue tends to be that selling GC's is such a rare thing at a hotel, the clerk might not know how to do it.

My wife and I both received it on our gold card. Can the secondary holder and primary holder claim the same bonus and split the bill to qualify for up to 300 off 750 if we both got the $150 off $375?
Absolutely if both have the offer saved to their cards. I had a stay at the Adero where I split payments across 9 different card and all received the credit. Just got ot the front desk for check out and say you want to split payments. Been doing this for years on both MArriot and my Hilton cards..
I have an upcoming stay coming up in Sheraton for $850 including taxes. I have the Amex $150 cash back and Marriott $50 (10%) back offers. If I split payment by paying 375 through Amex and the balance through chase , will I still get both the cashbacks?
I had gotten the $150off 375 yesterday, went back to my account today to verify I had the right card and I don't see the offer anymore. Did anyone else have their offer disappear?

Back in the day...they had these movies you could rent straight to your room TV...and charge to your room.
I've only heard of these things...but not sure if they still offer that type of "entertainment service"!
I understand that the offer terms exclude gift card purchases, but I am wondering has anyone tried to buy Marriott gc that triggered the congratulations email for the offer..

This method has always worked for me. The problem is that I could no longer find any hotels that sell gift cards. It would be great if we could start a database of list of hotels that still sell gift cards at the lobby. Thanks!
I had this offer on 2 of my cards. 375/100. I cannot remember if I saved the offer. I went on to make sure I saved before making a reservation just now. Now the offer is MIA. Ideas? So sad…
I have Spend $375, earn $150 back. It's been many years since I've stayed at a Marriott. I just did a search for a trip I have coming up, and the grand total after tax is $372. Unbelieveable. Any ides on how to push it up a few more dollars? Do they sell snacks at the front desk that I could buy and have added to my tab?
Yes, they have small items at front desk you can charge to room.
