I love the old version I got and would love to have a built in footrest, but apparently the footrest has a cheap plastic ring holding it which some reviews said broke easily. Replacing that piece with a metal carabiner seems to work for them.

This looks like the type of thing that will drop to half price when they try to get rid of it. I'll keep my eye out.

Do you have a link to the metal carabiner you used to replace the plastic clip?

Edit: see other reply. Not sure why my comment did not show up. Confused

Do you have a link to the metal carabiner you purchased to replace the plastic clips? Something like this [amazon.com]? TIA.

Check the Costco App for your store. Just click the Warehouse icon at the bottom and do a search. They are not in stock in the two stores near me.

Unlikely, weight capacity is 300 lbs and those actions should put more force on chair than that.

I bought one at my local Costco on 12/14 for $29.97. It was in the back corner of the store, but only a few were left.

I bought this chair when it first came out at Costco a few years ago and it's the one everyone jumps into when it's empty.

Anyone know how this compares to the regular Rio Swinging Hammock Chair? I bought a couple of those at full price and I'm thinking about swapping out those for these at half the price. I pretty much use these for camping just a few times a year.
