In for a set, used Discover CB to get $140 for $126 in rewards. Always kinda handy for these random home purchases Smilie

Funny thing is my first-gen Ryobi Lithium batteries are still going strong after 12-13 years. It's the 5yo ones that are dying...but that could just be due to using them more often.

This is not the best deal ever. It used to be when they had the 1x2Ah, 1x4Ah, 1xCharger + free tool for $99 you could often get a 4Ah battery as the free tool, meaning the same as this deal but $30 cheaper. This deal isn't bad, but sometimes you can do a bit better.

Mind you, who knows what deals will be around after Jan 20. Perhaps we'll never see that again.

Agree. Yes battery chemistry must get its exercise for peak longevity.
Use it or lose it!

I cycle through my batteries for that exact reason.

I think you are referring to the regular version, but this is the high performance kits.

I am curious how this compares to the two 6.0 Ah batteries that is going for $130. I know this has charger as well.

I would wait if you can on this kit. This is the same kit that came with a free brushless tool for $199 back during Ryobi Days. Then towards the end they put it on clearance for $159 with the free tool.

Ryobi Days start a little bit before Memorial Day, so if you can hold out I would.

I also retired 3 of my 6 or so 4Ah batteries after around 2 years of sporadic use. I was expecting a bit more longevity from them…

Milwaukee is more-so for pros.

For DIY, Ryobi makes the most sense. Does the job just fine. Not everyone wants to spend 2-3x the price to buy Milwaukee, Makita, or DeWalt.

If you're DIYer doing wood finishing even rarely try to stay away from ryobi for those cases.

Thanks for that. I'm returning my 2x 4ah and 1x 2ah + belt sander for that one instead.

For folks who just need battery, I don't recall getting battery deals when they go on sale. Might jump on this deal and get more then if ever.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Ryobi is great for basic DIY home use

I just got to the Discover site and redeem for a partner gift card (choose electronic card!) and it redeems almost instantly, then toggle over to the HD site and pay with the GC. It's always a 5% GC bonus with Discover.

Lowe's used to be the only Discover partner for big box home improvement, so I'm glad to see HD on there too.

Over the years my Discover CB account has accidentally become my "unexpected broken appliance saving account" Smilie
