About this Item:
  • Wyze Robot Vacuum uses an invisible spinning laser (LIDAR) to build an exact map of your home. You can see, edit, and save the map in the Wyze app.
  • Using the map built by the LIDAR sensor, the Wyze Robot Vacuum divides each room into sections and cleans in the most efficient path possible.
  • Specialized sensor groups help the vacuum move around obstacles and detect stairs and walls.
  • The edge-brush sweeps debris towards the center of the vacuum. A high-torque center brush works in tandem with 2100 Pa of suction power to pull up every bit of dust and dirt off your floor.
  • Don't want to move a finger? Just say "Hey Alexa, tell Wyze Robot Vacuum to clean the kitchen."
  • Wyze Robot Vacuum drives itself back to the charging station after it's finished cleaning. If battery runs low during a longer cleaning, it returns right back to where it left off after auto-recharging.
  • Average Battery Time (110 Minutes Standard Mode)

I have 2 of these from last 2 years. Check out my several posts on vacuum threads on this forum.

Long story short, the battery for each unit has degraded considerably. Both vacuums started dying in the middle of cleaning. I have now divided the floor plan into small rooms and I clean each of these "rooms" daily but with an interval for it to fully charge in between. So it will start cleaning at 12 am, then 2.30 am then 5 am and as such. I think I have about 4 of these rooms created.

The second vacuum has degraded quite a bit, to where it cannot even cover 1 large room without breaking it into multiple room parts.

The software, mapping, indicators, notifications are all good... So no complaints there. It's a great vacuum for the price except for the battery and the fact that the software cannot handle a low capacity battery very well..

If you buy this be warned that Wyze does not sell replacement batteries. After using mine daily for 2 years, mine can no long complete vacuuming a small area and even dies before it can return to the dock. There are third party batteries but I don't trust their advertised capacity and quite a few people say they'll no longer work after 6 months which is similar to my experience with 3rd party dyson vacuum batteries.

I get what you're saying, that you don't want cheap knockoff Chinese batteries with 20% stated capacity.

That said, your comment made me chuckle since like 90% of lithium batteries come from China 😂
Not samsung cells

Most reliable vac robot I've ever had. I wish they would release a mop one based on this platform.

I had the exact same issue. Run daily (well nightly) and one upstairs and one down. Right at 2 year man the batteries started dying quick.
I ordered a replacement battery off Amazon last week for like $35 and so far so good!

Yeah, that no-return policy is pretty funky and discouraging. However, they do accept Amazon Pay, which offers some decent protections [amazon.com]. Not to mention, you can use your Chase Amazon Prime credit card for 0% financing for 12 months when paying via Amazon Pay as well.

Overall, the price is what I would consider tempting and reasonable for a virtually disposable product. In my opinion, you'd be lucky to get 3 years out of most robot vacuums before they start to fail and need repair.

I already have a Samsung Smartbot and an Ecovacs Deebot Osmo that have dying batteries, weak wheel motors, and stripped gears. Luckily, I only paid a little over $100 for each, but it still seems pretty wasteful to spend that much on a product that will need to be replaced in a relatively short period of time. Perhaps robovacuums are a waste of money; I know I'm not impressed with the longevity of them, at least...

I've always liked normal vacuums with at least 10 amps of power. This seems to be 2.23 amps if my math is correct. Will 2.23 amps have enough suck to deep clean carpet?
No, robot vacs don't deep clean.

I purchased Roborock Q5 Pro for $139 during Black Friday sale and did not open yet. Does anyone know which is a better option? Thank you.

I have an old Eufy that I ran into a similar issue (the 25c or 35c pet edition is the only one made with a non-replaceable pack). I was able to correct this and find packs but not OEM. Now, that's one of the first questions when picking out a new robot vacuum.

Mine is 2 years old and just staring to degrade. Can't clean more than 500sq foot before returning to charge. But I run mine 3 times a week. Running daily is overkill and not good for battery IMHO.

Years ago, I got the Wyze Robot 200S. Overall, it's a decent product. (I never had competitors to compare it to, though.) One complaint is the lack of firmware and app updates: I haven't noticed one for years, and it can be glitchy sometimes. The second complaint is for the people and animals who live in my house that make it difficult to use an automated vacuum because it requires too much pre-cleaning to make it worthwhile lately.
I have a toddler with toys and shit always on the floor. Pick all the sh!t off the floor and run it in the middle of the night so no ones around. Dogs will get outta the way.

I've tried a lot of Wyze products like cameras and stuff and they all ended up in the trash for one reason or another with the exception of my Wyze robot vacuum which has been a champ. It is quieter than some other brands I have tried and seems to pickup a lot of dust I didn't even know I had.
