About this Item:
  • Wyze Robot Vacuum uses an invisible spinning laser (LIDAR) to build an exact map of your home. You can see, edit, and save the map in the Wyze app.
  • Using the map built by the LIDAR sensor, the Wyze Robot Vacuum divides each room into sections and cleans in the most efficient path possible.
  • Specialized sensor groups help the vacuum move around obstacles and detect stairs and walls.
  • The edge-brush sweeps debris towards the center of the vacuum. A high-torque center brush works in tandem with 2100 Pa of suction power to pull up every bit of dust and dirt off your floor.
  • Don't want to move a finger? Just say "Hey Alexa, tell Wyze Robot Vacuum to clean the kitchen."
  • Wyze Robot Vacuum drives itself back to the charging station after it's finished cleaning. If battery runs low during a longer cleaning, it returns right back to where it left off after auto-recharging.
  • Average Battery Time (110 Minutes Standard Mode)

I have 2 of these from last 2 years. Check out my several posts on vacuum threads on this forum.

Long story short, the battery for each unit has degraded considerably. Both vacuums started dying in the middle of cleaning. I have now divided the floor plan into small rooms and I clean each of these "rooms" daily but with an interval for it to fully charge in between. So it will start cleaning at 12 am, then 2.30 am then 5 am and as such. I think I have about 4 of these rooms created.

The second vacuum has degraded quite a bit, to where it cannot even cover 1 large room without breaking it into multiple room parts.

The software, mapping, indicators, notifications are all good... So no complaints there. It's a great vacuum for the price except for the battery and the fact that the software cannot handle a low capacity battery very well..

If you buy this be warned that Wyze does not sell replacement batteries. After using mine daily for 2 years, mine can no long complete vacuuming a small area and even dies before it can return to the dock. There are third party batteries but I don't trust their advertised capacity and quite a few people say they'll no longer work after 6 months which is similar to my experience with 3rd party dyson vacuum batteries.

I thought it was just me! This thing has terrible battery life after 8 months use. You are lucky you made it to 2 years. Switched to roborock and so far so good!

Most reliable vac robot I've ever had. I wish they would release a mop one based on this platform.
Well, the firmware has been calling mine "2 in 1 dust bin and water tank removed/installed" every time I rent the bin to empty and replace.

Company is awful at support and can't even get their firmware/software right.

I purchased Roborock Q5 Pro for $139 during Black Friday sale and did not open yet. Does anyone know which is a better option? Thank you.
I am looking right now at getting the Q5 Pro or the 8 Pro as an upgrade to the Wyze. The Wyze might be okay for a $100 entry level vacuum, but I wouldn't buy it again.

I think they might be using the same software for multiple models or borrowing this from the manufacturer company that also manufactures models with mopping as well.

Mine also says the same. I find it odd but definitely not a deal breaker

Right, but just shows how the company operates.

Originally, I thought the vacuum loses the map in the middle of the run, because the functionality is to go back to the base when the battery goes low and then resume cleaning.

It took me a while to realize that the battery (and mainly the software) was the issue. I think the battery does not report the capacity correctly or it just drops to zero charge without warning.

I've bought a few of these for 100$ and was always pleased with that, but I recently bought a couple Roborock Q5 Pro's at 140$ (link to follow) and there's no comparison. The Roborock are far superior. Quieter, more powerful, longer battery, have better integrations for homeassistant. They're just much better. I wouldn't touch this for 100$ vs 140$. Coincidently the Roborock Q5 Pro posted on slickdeals today: https://slickdeals.net/f/18046011-roborock-q5-pro-robot-vacuum-and-mop-combo-139-99-at-amazon?attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3AFalse&src=SiteSearchV2Algo1&peid=24477509-fac1-47a7-9851-4304f5625bf2
I've bought Wyze stuff since their beginnings and used to find their price/value was great but their offerings haven't kept up with competition

I bought a roborock Q5 pro refurb from their official ebay store in October for $135 + 2 year warranty. That was a great deal at that time considering the additional year warranty. A new unit for $140 (current promo price as well) is a super nice deal.

I'd recommend roborock to anyone based on my 2 month experience with it. Some pro's.
  • Suction is great: 5500 pa (higher than wyze's 2100 pa)
  • LiDar mapping, Multi-level mapping functionality and the App are positives. I was able to add no-go zones, virtual walls, etc
  • I've haven't used the mopping feature yet, but it supports basic mopping.
  • Battery capacity is good. 45 minute cleaning consumes 16% battery.
  • I haven't linked roborock with google home/assistant yet, but I plan to do it soon so I can invoke it by voice. Supports alexa as well.

Hope this helps.

I just saw an item count saying Wyze has 96 left. I don't think I saw that count when I ordered a couple days ago.

Have you tried/found a replacement battery that lasts longer?
