the description says "CertiPUR-US certified foam"
and upon further searching, that entails:
-Made without formaldehyde
-Made without ozone depleters
-Made without phthalates regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
-Made without mercury, lead and other heavy metals
-Low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)
-Screened for relevant chemicals, including flame retardants, that are classified as carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins and are harmful to human health

The last point makes me think there is no fiberglass.

I bought one to cut into 3 pieces to fit the back of a minivan for camping. It will be a much better sleep than an air mattress.
Did it have a fiberglass sock?

Perfect. I need a slimmer mattress that will fit on my murphy bed frame.

6" is way too thin, but then again it's only $49. Maybe good for a child since an adult will compress it in no time.

That's a good idea. I slept in my van during a summer trip, and used a tri-fold memory foam mattress. I paid more for it though, but having it fold (or stack in your case) is fantastic for space management.
This still might be worth it for future projects, as cutting would allow very specific length and going around wheel wells or other requirements...
a hot knife. Cuts foam like a butter and clean as machine cut.

I bought a zinus mattress for $230 in 2018. It wasn't amazing but good for the price. Mine was a different model but this deal seems like the best you can do for a decent mattress
I've had two Zinus mattresses, one was great and very affordable. The other was the worst mattress I've ever attempted to sleep on. Really have to investigate the model with them.

6" is pretty thin, anyone stack 2 on top of eachother?
The top of the mattress contains the actual memory foam, so you'd be better off getting a topper on the 6" rather than using another on the bottom as a box spring.

Walmart charged me $32 for "regulatory fees". Probably a California recycling fee. So the mattress itself was $50 but recycling fee was $32 and sales tax was $5.

Product $50, govt fee $37.

However, I tried ordering a similar Zinus queen size memory foam mattress from Amazon, and the "regulatory fee" that Amazon wants to charge was only $10.25. What gives? Why is California wanting $32 from Walmart for regulatory fee, but only wants $10 from Amazon?

The mattress recycling fee in California is currently $16 (as of Jan 1, 2025, it was $10.50 before that).

My best guess is Amazon is incorrectly charging the old recycling fee, and Walmart is charging the new recycling fee, but for some reason doing it twice (no idea why).

Yup, that is exactly right. Amazon hasn't updated their system to the new 2025 tax of $16, so they are still charging the old $10.50 tax.

Walmart is double-charging the new $16 tax... it's a bug in their system. I contacted customer service chat and they refunded me $16. Thanks!

So if we don't have an old mattress to recycle, should be requesting for the recycling fee to be refunded?

They were careful in their wording. Notice how it went from "made without," and "Low" amount, to "screened for." What was the conclusion after it was "screened for?" Was any found, if so was it removed. Doesn't sound like it. Just pointing out we screened for it so we can say we did and hope you don't ask any further questions.

The 8" Queen is $98.88, not sure if that's a great deal or not.
I have the Zinus Green Tea 8" and it's a very comfortable. Going on year 3 and no sag, or depressions. I'm 6-2/235 and it supports me well.
