i personally stay away from continous charging of my iphones, so dont like this mount with charging option. i am currently using one iOtte dock without charging, so i have an option when to charge and when to disconnect.

though advance technology can prevent iphones from excess charging, but i still want to seperate the mount the iphone and charging.

Nah, you just have to hit the "use this payment method" button on amazon, despite the price not reflecting the coupon. It'll reflect the coupon then.

I bought a similar one for ~$6.50 last year. The clam needs power. Only buy this if you needed the wireless charging because the holder is bulkier and heavier than regular phone holder and your holder needs to be connected to power.

If we want to use the Android Auto with USB cable, then a simple non-motorized mount is preferred. This one has motorized clamps and will only work when the mount is plugged in.
Something to reconsider.

Got mine today, very impressed with it. Charges fine through my fairly thick case. Vent clip seems sturdy and the grip on it is fairly decent. I like that it's usb-c so I can use usb-c to usb-c with my existing car adapter (the cord that comes with it is usb-c to usb-a). Only thing that doesn't seem to work (that the videos indicated) is that it opens when the car is turned off. It only opens when the car is turned on, and even though it closes when you put your phone in, it doesn't open when the car is turned off. But that's alright. For $12 it's still a solid buy.
