I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

Make a new visible account and get a new number?

Why not? Couldn't you use a different email to sign up with?

that's correct.
This is great, what evidence is there that this will happen? Success with prior deals? Apple unlocked policies? Looking for a double click before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

Anyways if you are going for Visible line just to port-out, you can try using a burner email and different credit card to get the promo offer.

After I select port existing # and enter my newly unlocked Google voice number on the intro page, then select the flex plus plan, the price of the phone jumps to 554.99 after only a $150 discount. Not sure if Im doing something wrong, or it just doesn't work with GV.
Now Metro is not accepting google voice numbers for port-in.

you can enter random phone number, account and pin during checkout. No idea if you can change that after phone ships.

I'm using mksd 5.6 also but found that only t mobile mvnos like mint and tello work on it. Any Verizon based ones didn't.
Yes that's true, Tello is TMobile service which is why it works. Assume same would be for Mint, not sure about ATT MVNOs

I'd need a spare phone to add and activate the new visible # to, wouldnt I, unlike using a google voice #? Sorry, I'm a noob.

Will MKSD void the unlock process? By using MKSD and another SIM - wil the phone STILL unlock after 12 months?

Just saying that you can check out the device. Maybe you can risk it, and call customer support when you get it to update port in information, or you just want to keep it locked. From my experience, I would not have high hopes with customer service.
