I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

Should be temporary. With Apple no longer selling iPhones with lightening ports in EU, the US (and the rest of the world) will be flooded with 13, 14 and SE3.

According to some reddit postings, Metro stores have started selling 14's for $99.99. Probably will be available online soon.
You know that's highly unlikely. Us models have mmWave antenna and no sim slots. The euro models have no mmWave and a sim slots. They would need to import all the frame and additional components for repair which makes it too costly to move a different model into a market that's doesn't already have it

Stop saying false things. You only need to pay for one month of service. Then after 12 months, service or not, it will be eligible for unlocking.

I messed up. I entered all the info and went all the way to last step where it verifies my identity. Unfortunately that page refreshed and I had to start over. Now it says my number is not eligible and when I try to login to metro using the number and pin, it does not goes through. Any clue how to fix this?

Well I could be wrong too. People on Reddit just say things without backing it up. But I only give 2 big reasons. It be logistical nightmare to bring parts in when it doesn't exist here

The European model is sold in a bunch of other places so they can continue selling those in other parts of the world (not in North America)

https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/

iPhone 14 Model A2882
iPhone 14 Plus Model A2886

iPhone SE Model A2783

They no longer list iP13 but its probably similar regions

Keep this wrong information for yourself if you don't have first hand experience.

I like IP 13 since it still have physical SIM slot that I can unlock with RSIM or MKSD, and much easy to switch SIM when travel, physical SIM always cost less than eSIM. If I need to upgrade, I will buy it from Canada instead, since they still sell IP with physical SIM slot.

I'm also attempting to port my StraightTalk number (that I got last month with the iPhone SE3 deal), & I get an "incorrect port info" error message (it asks for account#, which I assume is the phone number (I can't find any other account# in my ST account), number transfer PIN, and zip code). I attempted so many times I got locked out and got a "go to a store" message.I've used 21 days of my StraightTalk plan so far, if that's useful info.
IMEI of the phone you purchased is the account number. However even with correct account number I still can't port ST to Metro... good luck!

Do you have first hand experience unlocking a Metro phone 12 months after the change in terms May 2024?

Do it on a phone, especially if you already have a Metro phone, turn off wifi, make sure the transfer pin is current, use safari, when it errors, use the back button, not refresh.
