I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

Website won't let me add any lines of service on the account and they won't Place orders for me over the phone they say I need to go to Metro store. I'd be okay with that as long as I could get price at Metro store when I got there. Maybe I'll try calling my Metro store before walking in

Thanks I might be better trading it at Canada Apple Store instead of USA Apple store then. My family uses EastLink mobile carrier in canada. Do you happen to know if they accept locked phones from USA for trade?

Anyone know how I can get MKSD to work on these? I select 5G Auto from the menu and then T-Mobile but then it says I need to activate the device and then it goes through the process and completes but then makes me activate the device again, over and over again.

Before I port out of Metro back into my original carrier Xfinity mobile, can anyone recommend me another mobile carrier to temporarily get a port bonus from before going back to Xfinity mobile?

I ported from spectrum mobile and it was very easy. Gave up my free line that was still good for a while but wasn't using it anyway and was concerned that when I went to cancel the free line it would be a hassle dealing with spectrum.

Not for everyone, but I used a second new line to get a moto g stylus 2024 for $55 with a new number. No porting involved. Didn't want to deal with visible or other companies to get a number to port and I have the 2022 model and which I like. Will use this for a wifi device until unlock. FYI, spectrum allows an unlocked moto g stylus for the bring your own device deal. Other thread says the 2024 metro moto g stylus will work with a t-mobile sim out of the box which would be a bonus for me. Also, despite the one year unlock policy, some phones are still unlocking in six months.

Good luck to all and thanks for the info!

After many failed attempts, I was finally able to place an order. If I wanted to trade in this phone, what would be the smartest move? Trade in immediately or wait until the release of the iPhone 17? Would the trade in value be better during launch?

Anyone knows for those who have gotten the error "Your security is important to us. Unfortunately can't complete your order online", how long does it take to be able to order successfully again, or is it a permanent block?

I tried 3 times and all were blocked. Called Metro and CSRs were clueless.

Is this your first order? If so, are you completely new to Metro? Are you using a Wi-Fi address shared by other people?

It seems Metro is doing a lot of patch-up work to deter multiple orders continuously. I wouldn't be surprised if some first-time orders can't go through.

I counted my "port-out request" emails from Visible:

1st order: 2 requests (not sure why two, they were just a few minutes apart. So I might have entered incorrect info first time)

2nd order: 4 requests

3rd order: 6 requests (it was cancelled AFTER the order went through. Thankfully it was still fulfilled)

4th attempt: 9 requests so far without luck. I plan to do it once every day/other day until the due date

Visible eSIM is instant service activation if you have a compatible phone and you can get your port out info right away

Otherwise you'll need to wait for physical Visible sim to come in the mail in order to finish activation and get port out info
Do you knowow to open a line with eSIM? I didn't see this option on Visible website. After I enter the IMEI number and referral code, it just add a free physical sim kit to my cart. I cannot switch to eSIM

Try both IMEIs (IMEI1 and IMEI2) -- if your IMEI doesn't show up as eSIM then maybe your phone model is not eSIM compatible for their service

You can try checking VZ website as well:

I received my phone today. I booted up and it prompted a QR code for activation, and I did not activate. I ordered this one for $35 add a line but the first line is suspended for non payment right now

If I am trading in and do not want to keep it and unlock, can I simply trade it in and after wards close the entire account? Or do I need to port the number activate the first month of service on this phone as well?

Was anyone able to order a 4th phone? My 3rd iphone 13 was delivered. I tried to add a 4th line but after clicking Place your order, the system told me to call or go to a store. I probably will try another name and delivery address tomorrow.
