First of all, absolutely not true, everyone wore all the neon colors in the early/mid90s, even boys wearing pink. Second, colors don't have a gender, anyone can wear pink or blue or green or camo or whatever

Maybe if you were in older demographic. I remember wearing neon yellow, neon orange, pink T-shirt's . Even there was a biker shorts trend that both girls guys wore in 80s, early 90s. Not much different today with guys wearing skinny and cropped jeans and all type of colors . Maybe into the later 90s and early 2000s certain styles and colors were viewed a certain way
