If I see a deal on sports bras, I don't click on the thread to complain it's not relevant to me because I don't have tatas.
32" Smart Monitor M7 (M70D) 4K UHD with Streaming TV, Speakers and USB-C
SKU#LS32DM703UNXZA
Im getting it for $200.00
M7
- Bigger screen.
- Two HDMI ports, one being HDMI ARC - a big deal if you want to use a sound bar.
- More USB ports - not a big deal for me b/c I'll use a USB hub regardless, but could be nice for some.
- $15 cheaper.
- One model year newer (2024 vs 2023). I don't know if that matters, though, b/c Samsung is pretty vague with specs, and it's not clear if there are any significant upgrades.
M8- Brighter screen - 400 cd/㎡ vs 300 cd/㎡.
- Camera.
- The M8 is ostensibly one model tier higher. Though, like the model year, it's not clear if there are any significant upgrades.
I personally like the design of the M8 a little better, but that's obviously subjective, as is green vs. white. I can't call it a pro or a con b/c the design of the M7 will be better for many.Ultimately, I went with the M8 because the 27" size fits my desk space better. But the M7 seems like it might be the better deal if you want a bigger screen and you don't need the brighter screen to fight glare.

Also, would this be a good screen for amateur photo editing? The rtings review [rtings.com]seems decent, but I don't know how that translate into real world use vs other screens in the price range. The only red flag I see in poor color accuracy pre-calibration. But if that can be corrected by calibration, is it an issue?
Lack of aux audio out seems like a non-issue IMO. Even if it had it, I'd still prefer to use an inexpensive USB DAC, or speaker with USB input. I can only imagine the aux out on most monitors use the cheapest, lowest quality DACs out there.
In terms of photo editing - you could get by, but I find the quality (especially for 4K) not great. It's absolutely fine for office work but if you're doing heavier work - especially color heavy work (colors aren't great) - I'd look elsewhere.
I grabbed this on a deal a while back for my home office set up so trying to answer some questions and list pros cons:
Pros
-Good deal for 32" - Nice real estate space for work.
-Good set up if you want to use the Tizen interface for TV: I don't have a TV in my office but sometimes like to be on my personal PC and can use this as the TV in a very nice and convenient format thanks to Tizen. I know some people dislike it, but for this purpose it's quite nice.
Cons
-Color is okay, everything is a bit washed out even after calibration.
-4K doesn't feel as crisp as my other 4K.
-60 Hz blah, I don't game on it, but still get some stutter.
-Sound quality is sub par. Microphone on the camera is not good (I use my laptop mic and speakers for video conferences, but monitor camera).
Overall: I'm content with this purchase. Not amazing, but also was happy with the value I got on it and it fits my needs.

I also see the "smart apps" which will run like crud and stop receiving updates within a year.
Is that right? Can someone explain.
